Best Cheapest Pre Paid Phones

OK I need your opinions for our wedding next year we are coming from Australia. We will have about 7 families at our wedding and to try and keep in touch but not lose an arm and a leg using our Australian mobile phones, I am trying to find the Best, Cheapest, Prepaid Cell phone.
So I am looking for your suggestions hopefully looking to stay under the $25-$30 mark as I have to shell out for 7.

I live in Canada and have an American Tracfone. I bought it at Walmart and paid $10 for the phone and bought an airtime card for $20. I doubt you could get anything for less money than that...unlesss it happened to be on sale when you were buying them. If you do a search you can find codes for Tracfone that will get you extra minutes and sometimes extend the airtime expiry. When I got mine I found a code that gave me an extra 20 minutes and extended the expiry by 3 months. The expiry was a real bonus because I was then able to use the phone for a second trip to the US.

Look on the Tracfone website but also look at the store sites as well...like Walmart and Target. In my experience the stores had the cheaper phones.

right now net10 has refurbished phones on sale for $20 comes with a 200 minute card... and the phone when u activate gives u another 300 minutes... and they are offerring free shipping and there is also a $3 off code out there( need to google for it)....
so for $17 plus tax u can get a phone with 500 minutes and 90 service days

Is it just on the website? I a canadian too and can not order from some sites because they want an american credit card with an american billing address. I tried to oder a virgin phone last year to be shipped to disney and could not. I have bought the $30 net10 phone that comes with 300 minutes. I bought it last year and am getting them again on the way to the airport.
I tried to use last years phone with a new card last month in Texas and an was not able to do it. It seems like a waste to have to get new phones.

I can speak to Tracfone....you can let it expire and then reactivate later but they will give you a new phone number. The older Tracfone models did not allow for this but the new ones do....for now. Last year I was in Texas and I needed a cheap pre-paid phone to keep in touch with the guys at the convention I was atending and I got at a Sam's Club a Net10 phone for $30ish and got almost the same amount in credits (it was enough for local phone calls for a whole week with credit to spare).

they charge u for a sim card???? whenever I have had problems activating a phone with net10 or tracfone they have always sent me a new sim card free...
