Best CHEAP offsite motels near DISNEY

We want to stay offsite our 1st night before beginning our package the next day. We'll arrive at POP EARLY and have them store our stuff so we can hit the parks right away.
Any suggestions for a CHEAP offsite motel? We'll only be there one night, but we'll need a GOOD night's sleep.

You cna usually get the Best Western Lakeside on Hotwire for $29 or so per night (w/ taxes ad fees should be $40-45). Check out betterbidding.com to help you determine which hotel it is on Hotwire. It's a 3 star in the Disney main Gate/Celebration area, but I don't remember the amenities listed offhand.

We like the ability to change plans and get a refund so we usually don't bid on anything.

We have used the Continental Plaza Hotel, Kissimmee in the past. It is an old Quality Inn and is 2 stars.

The low season prices we have seen on hotels.com is about 25 dollars.

If you stalk the site, you will see that some hotels have frequent 48hour sales with 40 percent off.

The place is older, but we felt safe.

Me and my sister stayed at Barefoot'n Resort off U.S. Highway 192 in Kissimmee back in May. Paid I think 69 bucks a night. Had a full kitchen and huge bathroom. Very nice resort. Its a condo and fairly new. About 10min if that away from Disney.

We stayed at the Downtown Disney Hilton on July 4th weekend for 59.00. I don't know if the prices will be the same this time but it is worth checking out. It is called their 72 hour sale. Hope this helps.

I was just gonna tell you about the sale. Check their online sites. They usually have the cheapest prices, plus it's easy access to your resort from there.

I would keep checking travelzoo.com. They always seem to have great deals on orlando hotels.

Um...Wednesday was 7/21...Friday is 7/23. Does the sale start Wed. or Fri.?

To answer my own question, I hopped over to the Orlando Hotels board and got this info, courtesy of Lovedisney77.

I just received an email stating "The clock starts at 5:00pm Friday and stops at 5:00pm Monday, July 26th. But during those 72 HOURS, you can save up to 50% at the 7 Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotels"
This offer is through their facebook fan page. They ran a similar promotion several weeks ago and there were some great deals. Thought I would post if it could help anyone find a good price on a non-disney hotel.

I like Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. Awesome location!!!

The Comfort Inn has been completely renovated recently and will be changing to to a Clarion. Still part of Choice, so points are still good.

Currently they were offering $59 rooms (just go thru choice.com). I booked one for our Dec. trip (arrival on 12/20). Cheaper if you are a AAA or Sam's Club member.

It does have a 72 hour cancellation policy as most hotels around the area however.

Free breakfast and free Wifi. However, don't count on the free breakfast. It's impossible to take advantage of it. They hotel has TONS of rooms, and the breakfast area cannot accommodate not even 10% of the guests. Wait lines can be 30-45 minutes. Much better to skip it and head down to the nearby Denny's or McDs.

That said, depending when you arrive, have you checked to see if you can get a room-only discount rate at POP?
