We are already planning to eat one dinner at the Crystal Palace, but I would like to do a second character dinner for my DS5 and DS2. What would you suggest? :confused3

Maybe Chef Mickey's if they have an opening. This one gets booked fast.
Or the T- Rex it's not on the dinning plan but it's really neat!

TRex is fun, but not a character meal. We enjoy Chef Mickey's very much, but like the Garden Grill even more. Served family style, much quieter than CM's. Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale.

Unfortunately LTT doesn't have characters anymore or I would pick that in a heartbeat. With that said, I would either choose CM for the character interaction or CP for the food. We do a lot more character breakfasts than dinner, so it is hard to decide.

We did Garden Grill and the character interaction was awesome-well minus Dale (he skipped us for some reason). The food was good too so I'd be about that for sure!

so far i've been to:

Donald's Breakfast at AK (forgot the official name)
Garden Grill
1900 Park Fare
Crystal Palace

my fav is Garden Grill...i've been there twice and plan to go again on next trip

Garden Grill is the one in the rotating restaurant, right? Does it make you dizzy, or is it REALLY slow? :confused3

Hi we've just returned from 3 weeks at the world and did the following character meals:-

Tusker House - would I go again NO!! Reservation for 8am sat down at 8.10 we were sat outside Kilamanjoro safari at 8.50 waiting to get in line!!! Talk about rushed. I think I had a mickey waffle and that was it, the waitress put the bill on the table as she poured us coffee!!!

Lilo & Stitch poly - would do again
Supercali breakfast - would do again
Cinderella and ugly sisters - would do again
Crystal palace - dinner - would do again but a little dissapointed from last visit here
Garden Grill - this is one we do every trip and no the restaurant only moves slowly you don't really realise you are turning.
Princess Breakfast at norway -would do again - did dinner last time but breakfast was definitely better

But the one that we do every trip and dosen't seem to get much praise is Breakfast at Cape May - interaction with characters is fantastic and the food is great!!! We met Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale here.

The one I am saving for next trip is Chef Mickeys

Enjoy your trip:)

yes, very slow...usually one meal is about 1 to 2 rotations depending on how long it takes you to eat

What do you mean? Did they push you out the door? There is no way the staff is going to make my family get out the door until we are good and ready. Even if it is free!!:lmao:

It will not make you sick or dizzy....No need to worry because it goes soooooo slow ;)

We love the GG for dinner...One of our favorite character dinners...The food is very fresh and we like that the food comes to us...They will bring plenty of what you enjoy...Our kids love the dessert there (once we had make your own cupcake and once we had dirt and worms)...Both times we went the characters came to our table twice...A bit of advice is to request the lower level...You feel like you are all alone and have a great view of the top of the Living With The Land ride...

Great choice for dinner :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Given the ages of your children, I would recommend Chef Mickey's. I can't address the lunch or dinner buffet because we were not able to get reservations for those times but we thought the breakfast buffet was great. We had super character interaction and we always found the food to be quite good.

We always enjoy the character meals and don't go expecting the most outstanding food, but I have never had a problem getting more than enough to eat. I do have to say we were not overly impressed with the Beach Club Breakfast Buffet, but we would try it again. I do have to say, however, no matter how much I adore my grandchildren, NO WAY in this world the could ever drag me back to Playhouse Disney's Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine. I thought the food was terrible, the character interaction was minimal and the noise level...well let's just say I believe the sound barrier may have been broken during breakfast that day.

Hope you have a great time and enjoy your meal.

How can you be rushed out of a buffet (Tusker House)???:confused3 So she left the bill, that doesn't mean you have to leave. You can still take your time. We ate at Tusker House laste week and had a wonderful b/fast. Our server even gave us fast passes to the Nemo show. (Which we couldn't use since we had FS's to the Safari at the same time.)

Cape May is good. C&D are no longer there. It's only Minnie, Goofy and Donald.

We basically got there had pics taken outside with Donald, went in sat down. Waitress asked "would you like coffee? - Are you on the dining plan?" We replied Yes to both she replied "well here is your bill - you just need to add your tip and then I can take it!!!!!"

Mickey, Daisy and Goofy came out very quickly with everybody - pics, autographs - next then kids went with goofy to do a dance, whilst kids were dancing and adults were watching and taking pics the table was cleared of plates and any empty juice, coffee cups!!!

Everybody returned to their tables and the atmosphere had just gone, nothing else left to do but go do the rides!!

Glad you had a good time there but as I stated we didn't. Also we did Cape May on the the 19th August and Chip or Dale was there with Minnie, Donald and Goofy

Wow! I'm so sorry that happened to you! I guess I'll have to leave DH at the table during the character hoopla as a placeholder. Heck, he'll volunteer. After all this time, he knows what I will be like if someone steals my coffee cup before I'm finished! :surfweb: :rotfl:

OMGWARSH me too! When we took my 2 oldest on their 1st WDW trip, we did LTT dinner and we ALL just loved it!! So sad they took it away so now DD7 will never get to experience it:sad1:

I'm the type of person that we would have PURPOSEFULLY sat there as long as my family wanted to and then left her a bare minimum tip. I probably would've also written on the receipt letting her know why she got a poor tip too! That just bugs the pixie dust right outta me! SO sorry you had that experience:hug:

Glad you had a good time there but as I stated we didn't. Also we did Cape May on the the 19th August and Chip or Dale was there with Minnie, Donald and Goofy

As the CM's and now the computer ADR confirmations state..."characters are subject to change without notice". When we had CRT bf when DD7 was 4, we had Fairy Godmother there, which I hear is rare at BF, along with Jasmine, Blue dress Belle, Snow White, and Cinderella of course!

That's exactly why I drag along DS17 (will be 18 this month), only when DH is travelling overseas and can't be with us on our WDW trips, to the character meals with us. He is happy to stay at the table and stuff his face:rotfl2:

I have to agree with everyone who has voted for Garden Grill - it is really great! With LTT not doing characters anymore, this is our only "have to" for dinner.

Over the years, we've done almost all of the character meals - CP is okay, as is H&V at HS. CRT is a must-do once if you have girls, but it's really nothing special food-wise. Park Fare for dinner was okay as well. Chef Mickey's is so-so - would recommend that for breakfast though, because it's cheaper. The Lilo & Stitch breakfast at Poly is really fun, but again, the food was just so-so. Donald's at AK is just like the rest of the buffets...but HAD to meet Donald :)

You'll have fun whatever you do I'm sure!!!
