best character dining

Not based on food (the disney buffet food is not the greatest..) but, on character interaction I would say 1900 Park Fare. We also love Chef Mickey's on our first night, as a tradition, because we end up spending less park time getting the kids pictures and autographs from the characters.

My vote would be for Tusker House Breakfast, hands down. It is a never miss whenever we are on Disney trip. The food is always yummy and the character interaction is the best.
Cinderella's Royal Table would be our second choice, then Ohana's.
There is one place I will never go back to, that's Chef Mickey's. It was crazy noisy, the food was boring (all are available at the counter service at our resort), and the characters practically ran by, if they stopped at all. I was very disappointed.
Have fun on your trip. :goodvibes

Thanks so much for the heads up about chef Mickey we almost made reservations for that!

We had the best character interaction at Cape May, the characters come by several times and actually SIT with you, it was amazing.

The best food, however, and the 2nd best character interaction was Tusker House.

Chef Mickey was the worst for both. I will never darken the entrance of that place again.

1900 Park Fare was very entertaining for both breakfast and dinner. The interaction between Anastasia and Drizella at dinner was one of the highlights of our last trip.

I second the Tusker House breakfast. The characters did some type of conga line with the kids and there were marachas (sp?) that they handed out for the kids to use. We got some great photos while they were dancing and it was nice to see them all in their safari gear. Each character stopped by our table and it didn't seem rushed at all. Plus we love Daisy!!

We scheduled this for a few minutes after EMH park opening at AK. Sent one person to get FP for the safari and had time to get the kids faces painted after eating and to explore a bit before our FP time.

The food and service were surprisingly good. Most of the buffets are disastrous, IMO, because the food is usually lukewarm at best and beverage service is hit or miss (I'm talkin to you Hollywood & Vine and Crystal Palace!).

This is the only character dining we'll be repeating on our upcoming trip.

For the characters alone, I would say 1900 Park Fare for dinner. However, food wise, I prefer CP.
