Best character dining?

Are there some that people have not been too thrilled about? I'll have a 2 and 4 yr old with me. We'll be there for 3 days.

I have written down the Chef Mickey's Fun Time Buffet to try for dinner, the Playhouse Disney lunch and Once Upon a Time lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table.

We're not big breakfast fans, just prefer something quick, so I figured we'll aim for the lunch/dinners.

Do you find it hard to have a reservation? What I mean is, if you're at the parks it seems like it is easier not to have a reservation that you have to work around. But I see that you really need to reserve a time. I could just see us getting busy at the park and not wanting to stop what we are doing to leave for dinner..... I guess the dinners with the characters should be so much fun also that you want to leave to go there!

We have eaten both breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickey's and really enjoyed it. We had my son's suprise 10th b-day dinner there and it was perfect. Several years ago we tried CP at the Magic Kingdom and had mixed reviews about it. Too cramped in and the characters were pulled into so many directions that they could not spend any time with you. This year we are trying O'Hanas for breakfast at the POly but again after reading the posts on this site I have not heard great reviews regarding the service. Liberty Tree at the MK was cute and the food was not bad.

You really need an ADR if you want CRT. You may be able to walk up to the others and get seated since you are going at a slower time of the year. However, if you want to eat at a main dinner time during the typical rush, it is possible that you won't get a table.

Chef Mickey's would be a great choice. If you do decide to do a late breakfast, I would suggest Ohana.
