Okay - it's not actually my DS8 but it is my best friend's little boy and they're going to Disney for the first time June 9 - 16th. They are staying onsite (CBR) but don't have a car. What do you guys think would be the best character dining for him? I'm thinking that he's too old for CP but would probably be into Stitch or Mickey. Oh yeah - she can't ask him because the trip is a surprise!
thanks!

Never hurts to stick with the "big guns", i.e., Mickey and/or Pals. Chef Mickey, Cape May, and Tusker House sound like good choices.

Great idea - I hadn't realized that Tusker House did a character breakfast. Thanks so much!

Mine was 7 during our last trip and we did Liberty Tree Tavern, however that location no longer has a character dinner. He loved it. This time, he'll be 8, and we have Chef Mickey's ADRs. He really wanted to go here last time, but we hadn't made reservations and couldn't get in. Our trip is a surprise, too!

We really enjoyed the Tusker House breakfast. It's at AK, where food choices are slimmer and the food was actually really good. Most of the biggies are there, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy.

Well, my DS is well past 8 (he turned 13 on our January trip) and he LOVED Crystal Palace. In fact, he loved all the character meals that we did (5 in total).

Our favourite "overall" was the Ohanas breakfast. I cannot say how amazing this meal was, both in character interaction and food quality. Plus the atmopshere and service at the Poly were nothing short of fantastic.

Favourite breakfast was Ohanas, but we also enjoyed Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House.

Our favourite dinner was Crystal Palace. Again, great character interaction, great food, and oh-so-conveniently located at MK. We also did dinner at Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare for dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed both of those too.

DS is 8 and loved Crystal Palace and Tusker House. We are doing Chef Mickey's next time also.

Chef Mickey's is classic. Donald's Breakfast Safari at Tusker House has a rugid, "boy" appeal. Then Ohana incorporates Stitch... but also Lilo (I don't know if that would be too "girly" for him).

He'd also probably like T-Rex at DtD.

Hope he has a great time at WDW!

Ohana-Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and Pluto, pineapple bread and great coffee...and, oh yeah, a great view; Seven Seas Lagoon and the MK.

Tusker with Donald, Mickey, Goofy, etc. plus a great buffet spread. Do an early ADR and get a jump on the Kilamanjaro line and EE fast pass.

How about both? My DS13 likes em all.

My kids were 10, 8, 4, and 9 mos. the lasttime we did the CP. They all really enjoyed the experience. We will most likely go again in June.

Chef Mickey's is the Best :cool1:

If you only do one...then Chef Mickey's is the one. The overall experience is wonderful. The location, food, character interaction, and atmosphere are the best. Plus, he'll get to ride the monorail to his meal! :cool1:

My Ds's favorite character meal is Donald's safari at Tusker House. We've been going to Donald's breakfast since their first trip in 2000 and it's the only character meal they ask to go back to.

My kid's have never been to WDW but for our May trip when I asked if there was anything in particular they wanted to eat they all said we have to go to Chef Mickey's. They were most upset when I said I thought that CM might be hard to get in to. Luckily persistence paid off. Like I said they've never been, but all their friends told them it's "the" place to go (they're 13, 9 & 6). So off we go to CM...:woohoo: We're also doing Cape May and O'hana:rolleyes1
