Best cell phone service at WDW?

If you are customer of Verizon, Cingular, or US Cellular, how was you cell phone coverage the last time you were at WDW and/or Universal?

I have Cingular and never had a problem at WDW.

I found that Cingular was predominant in Florida. That is also the service I have and I never had a single problem with it. Crystal clear reception and a full signal the entire time we were there.

Sprint wasn't too bad, couldn't get reception in the middle of the room, stayed @ ASMo & POR but could get reception more towards the door. No problem in the parks, although I didn't use it that much there.

Have Cingular and had a slight problem getting reception in our room in the POP, but I just stepped right outside the door and everything was good!

Verizon has the most towers in WDW. We just renewed our plan down here, and that was one of the reasons.

I have Verizon and never had a problem...and I called a lot since DD was home with her Grammy!!!!

We have Sprint and it wasn't very good. Couldn't get a signal at all in our room at POR. Had to walk outside and walk around just to find a spot where we could get any reception at all. In the disney parks, it worked, but was spotty. At Universal, it worked, but usually required several tries before getting through and almost never rang when we got a call. Instead, we'd just get a missed call notification a few minutes after someone called.

We have Cingular. It worked very well with only a couple of problems. No signal in some of the buildings in Epcot and at POR we only had signal if we stood by the window or went outside the door.

We had C when we first went in April. Bad story....we ended up roaming when we were told that we would not....so we got rid of them. Went to Sprint and for our Dec trip had no problemos....

I have Verizon. Reception was great as long as I used it outside. Funny thing though, when I tried to call from MGM, I got a red light on mine that warned me that there might be roaming charges from there. It was just fine everywhere else in WDW. I tried to call from the area of ABC Commissary, so I did not make that call at that time.

I have used Sprint, Nextel and T-Mobile the many years we have travelled to WDW and Nextel is by far the best coverage.

Thanks. I have Nextel and was hoping that the service was good there. Might even be better once the whole merge is done.

Nextel has nearly 100% coverage in WDW. There are very few spots that it gets iffy inside very few of the buildings.

WDW uses nextel Walkie Talkie for communications property wide, so thats why Nextel is rock solid.

US Cellular is also decent. I couldnt get coverage in a room in the contemporary, but just outside the room in the hall near the windows was fine. Inside rides, USCC doesn't work, nor in some of the shops or buildings, but coverage was still pretty good considering USCC doesn't really cover the area ( it's a midwest service, so it's all roaming, which is fine as long as you have Nationwide on your plan. If you don't, use seldom, trust me! )

We have Cingular and had a few problems with reception especially in different in certain areas at POP Century and in a few places around AK and Epcot. It was quite disturbing as my mom had to have a biopsy why we were gone and my sister ended up having to text message me during the procedure as our reception at AK was so poor. Other than that ... not too bad of service.

According to Verizon, 12 new towers were just recently erected in WDW, so there should be no problems... I haven't had any from inside any of the buildings or in any of the parks in the past couple of months.

US Cellular worked quite well both in the parks and at the resort.
