I'm really a novice with cameras. I want to purchase a camera that is not too diffucult to use, but at the same time, take the best possible pictures. Any suggestions? :confused3

I hate to see that you don't have any replies, because I'm in the same boat you are! I am looking for a new digital camera, which takes the best pic's around the $400-600 range. I currently have the Minolta Dimage Z1, and have enjoyed it. However, I don't know where to even start this time! I guess I may have to head over to the dpreviews.com boards for more advice. Would still love to hear from diser's!! ;)

For that kind of price, if you can, you might as well upped your budget a tiny bit and get a dSLR... or lower your budget and get a Canon S3 IS.

if you liked your MInolta and aren't afraid to buy another since they sold out to Sony, you could get a Konica Minolta MAXXUM 5D +1gb cards+18-70mm lens

for 650 on ebay....
