Hi!
We are DVC'ers who are staying in FW cabin on 12/20 for 1 night which I have always wanted to do-so is there a loop/location we should request so we are near all the action and xmas decorations (btw, I have already reserved a cart).
Also we do not celebrate xmas, but still like to decorate our cart for the holiday season to identify it while we're there - any easy cart decorating ideas? I'm thinking perhaps bringing snowmen decorations, but I do not know if it's worth it as we are just there for 1 day.

Thanks in advance !

The cabins are not that close to the center of Ft. Wilderness or the Marina. Don't worry though...they all seem nice and you have it covered by having a cart. BTW, the best Christmas decorations are actually campsites of people that have taken it upon themselves to decorate. One night is not enough....but you'll have fun.

If you take a look at the map by filing the sticky above, the cabin loops are loops 2100 through 2800. Loops 2100 and 2200 are closest to the camping loops. But, if you have a golf cart, this is a non issue.

Yes, decorate your cart, even if it is only for one night! Some easy things that you can do: get some window clings- these will stick to the windshield and are easy to put on and take off; buy some battery operated light strings. These are easy to find this time of year. They operate on two C batteries. Get 3 or 4 sets, and bring a roll of tape. You can tape those around the roof. Any kind of garland would also be great to wrap around the hand rails, etc. Just those suggestions will give you a very festive cart!

Have fun!

Thanks for all your ideas - now it's off to get some lights and decals (have to look for snowmen) :)

Hopefully, dd14 will get into the holiday spirit once she finds out our surprise stay at FW once we get to FW(surprise stay!) and help me decorate!! ;) Now if someone can stop the possible showers that the forecast shows that would be great also (although I know FL needs the rain!):rolleyes1

Hey TCD, I can't find those anywhere, I'm looking at discount stores and anywhere else that sells Christmas stuff (want a string to go on my Mickey Mouse wreath). I was starting to think I'd made battery-operated lights up.

I picked up several strings at my local Ace Hardware store just a few weeks ago. I also saw them in the Christmas decoration section at Target. They are cheap. Like $2.99 for a string. They will last for a couple of nights on a set of batteries. Worked great on my last trip to the Fort. Not as bright as the lights some folks connect to the cart batteries, but they do the trick.
