We just got back from Best Buy. We bought a new TV!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that they have their Black Friday prices up today through Wednesday  :yay:(at least on the TVs, we didn't check other departments).

The TV we wanted was in their normal flyer though, but also in their Black Friday sales flyer.

Hope this helps someone!:)

Hey which TV did you buy?

I bought one today too:woohoo:

IMO are really just a waste of money; what they cover is very very limited.

And if it makes you feel better about declining it. We have a Samsung 42" and love it. We've had it for a year and a half and not even a hint of a problem.

We just used our warranty. One of the circuit boards on our fairly expensive (I think it was $2000 when we bought it) TV went out last week - it was past its normal manufacturer's warranty.

We've had good luck with extended warranties - we've used them for both the XBox and the Playstation, the wireless phones, one computer, and a TV. Would be nice if they made things to last, but they don't.

We bought the 52" Sony that came with the free PS3 (which we don't need), but this was the best price on this TV--hubby has been watching it for a couple of months. It will be delivered on Friday.

My husband sent me to BB and told me to buy the warranty, he will read the doc's and decide if he wants to keep the warranty. Right now he is in New Zealand for work, returns on Tuesday and wanted to get in on the deal while they still had stock.

It was expensive but we haven't bought a TV in more than 10 years

not trying to hijack the thread, but I bought a 32" LG about three weeks ago, either hoping for a better deal (and return it) or for a deeper discount.

BB has a 32" Sony in today's flier. Any thoughts about LG versus Sony in quality?

Thanks.

Anyone know how Dynex is???

Would you get the 40" listed in their ad for $499.99 or instead brave the BF Meijer's doorbuster 42" Sylvania for the same price??

The Sylvania is bigger but is it any better?....and...is it worth it for me to go wait in line to try to get one of these or just be able to get a Dynex right now for the same price less hassle???

If anyone has any knowledge on these two I would love to hear! Thanks!

Everyone always tells us that Samsung is the best. So that's what we went with. Then I think I've heard Sony is the next best and then maybe Vizio. I don't know anything about Dynex or Sylvania. We had an off brand 40" flat screen that someone gave us and it didn't last long, it was a weird name, that I can't even remember. So we tend to stick to the name brands that everyone recommends.

We bought a TV yesterday - were going to buy it from Best Buy but they ticked me off so we went to Conns and they price matched it! ;)

I will say that we ALWAYS buy the extended warranty and, to date, have used it on every item we've purchased one on with the exception of our current LCD. On our previous TV (a DLP) we used it multiple times and it ended up paying for the cost of a new TV. We've used them on refrigerators, washers, furniture, dryers, digital cameras, etc. If it's a bigger ticket item, we always buy one. It covers just about everything but abuse. You may be able to go back and add it to your purchase.

We bought a Panasonic plasma - it was between that and an LG for us. We have a Toshiba LCD that has held up very well, too.

fyi if you bought a tv on your credit card, there is a good chance you already have extended warranty protection. I know my MasterCard has it and it is a fairly basic card.

Dynex is Best Buy's brand. Our tv is that brand and we love it!

I bought 2 dynax 32 LCD TV from best buy 2 yr ago on black friday, one for my guestroom and one for my mother. They are still working fine without problem. However, I have to say that my samsung is clear and better in quality but dynax price is better. I did not get the extended warrenty.

Did they have the prices up or did you have to ask for the Black Friday price? We are looking to get the iHome clock radios and would love to get them early.

I don't recall the details specifically, but from what I understand there are only three big LCD companies in the world and they just re-name them from brand to brand.

They had signs up by all the items saying something like: Why wait in line on Black Friday, get the Black Friday price today, available now thru Wednesday. And then it had the Black Friday price. Not sure if all Best Buys are doing this or just ours.

BB had the LG frontloading washer and dryer for 349$ a piece. Didn't even have to drive to the store called and was helped by a very pleasant salesgirl who placed the order and set up dlvry and installation for me.
