We got one but we did not want the 179 one. We got the 229. However, when we were shopping we could have gotten the 179. They really sold out. I wonder if they will have a few tomoro for the BF sales.

The add said 10 per store..... but some of those store lines are already forming (granted they might not be there for the netbook, but I will pay the $11 shipping to have it and avoid those lines.)

That is how we felt. We have been in lines many times on BF but that was several years ago. I would rather pay a bit more and be in a long line for a day and still take the chance of not getting what my kids want.

Hey all - update!

If you are looking for this try going on-line to the Best BUy site. My sister wanted one for her DH so I look it up (just entered "compaq mini" in search section of the website) and it came up. You can ONLy pick it up in stores (which is funny because on black Friday you couldnt - I WANTED to ... )

Here's the funny glitch (sp?) - when I searched for a store w/it in stock by my zip code it said "none avaible", but when I searched by my city and state, most of the stores had some (?!) - even the one in my zip code....

So, if any of you missed out, hopefully you can find one! Good luck all!

(I am soooo excited - my DH went on and on about how the librarain thought it was better to get a netbook over a Kindle for reading books - he has wanted a reader for ages. He will be SOOO surprised!!) )

Oh nooo!!! I'm sorry - I was hoping this would help some but that is a total bummer. Hopefully, it might work later in the week? I was surprised to even still see that special price offered (it's usually $400)...so maybe it will stay on special and they can restock. Guess I'd keep checking - good luck - I will post if I see any other great deals out there on minis.

WOW - I put in my zipcode (near Baltimore) and it wasn't available. But, I put in my in-laws (live 25 minutes from me) and every store was available!

$179?!

I was going to get one from HP website with my coupon from Verizon, but I'll use the coupon for something else then! My son needs this for school.
