Best Building at POP!

Hello everyone!

I have a quick question for those of you who have stayed at Pop Century already!

In your opinion, which building would be considered the "all-around" best? Taking into consideration bus stop, food court, pools, etc. If you could stay in any building, which would it be and why?

I'm getting ready to send in a request, and would just like to hear from someone who has been there! I haven't!

Thanks!

MM

I'd like to knpw, too. We're staying there in October!

We just got back from Pop Century this weekend. We had two seperate stays with visits to DVC resorts between them. We were in the 90s building the first stay and the 70s building the second stay. I liked the 90s building we were close to the computer pool and to the parking, but I favored the 70s building. We were in building 10 ( I think that's the B building) overlooking the center court with a view of the giant Mickey Phone! That location was pretty close to the hippy dippy pool and the food court and also to the busses (which we didn't use.) I do have to say I was very impressed with the resort itself. It was landscaped and set up very nice and I walked around just taking in the sights (and sounds of the decades) a couple of times at night. My wife and I both agreed then when we aren't at OKW we will use PC again.

I'm glad to hear all of these good things about Pop Century!

I can't wait to get there! I was born in the 70's, so that might just have to be the area we request. But I am a child of the 80's, so I might like that too!

Sounds like you can't go wrong!

I just know that once you are there, sometimes you get this, "I wish I was in __________ building. If I come back, I'm going to request that building. I was just wondering what people would say, and why..

The 80s and 90s buildings are a tiny bit further away than the rest, but by only minutes. The 60s building is right on top of it all, but costs $10 more a night to stay in (not worth it imo). We stayed in the 50s building and felt close to everything, and 70s looked to be the same way. I really don't think you can wrong with location, so just choose the time period you like best and request that one!!

We stayed in the 50's building C (Tramp side) and loved the location. We were on the 4th floor. It was a quick walk to the main building and buses. The bowling pin pool is right there in the middle of the 50's. We loved this location.

The 70's looks like it would be a close walk also, but the 80's and 90's just a bit further as mentioned above. The 60's is in the middle but I don't think worth paying $10 extra/night.

Overall I don't think the resort is that huge so I don't think that anywhere would be terrible, but I've only walked around so don't know first hand what staying in the farthest rooms is like.

Also, with our location (rooms 3444 & 3445) we could just walk down the hall and watch Illuminations and Wishes.

We stayed in the Pop Century in June. We stayed in the 70's B building. We really liked this building. It is close to the food court and very close to the bus stop. We would request staying there again. I think that next time we will request a top floor room however. Enjoy your trip. Can't wait to go back.

We also stayed in the 50s, building C, 4th floor when we went in May and it was great. We had originally requested 70s but when we checked in (around 9:30AM), there was a 50s room ready so we took it. It worked out much better for us because we were close to the 50s pool which was much less crowded than the Hippy Dippy one (and we thought it was more fun than the computer pool). We were also right next to the stairs at the end of the building, closest to the main hall, definitely closer to the food court and the bus stops than some of the 60's rooms. We're hoping to stay in the same area next trip!

We also just returned from Pop Century. DH and DD really love the 60s, so I booked the 60s Bldg. We had room 5312 (the bldg with Mowgli and Baloo) and our room was at the end of the hall overlooking the kiddy pool. It was VERY QUIET!!

It was a short walk to the food court/bus stop (gift shop too - we spent a lot of time in the gift shop!!!) And very quick to the main pool.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pop Century (and I got to meet Tyler!!!!!). We would definitely stay there again!

Thanks everyone!

It sounds great! I think I just might have to leave it to chance! Who knows where we will end up?? I would love to see some fireworks from the resort, if possible. Chances are, we will be at the parks anyway, but you never know!!

So, hmm.. When do you call to ask for a certain building? Is it too early? We leave in 24 days!!

I was on the forth floor of the '70s building and could see fireworks from the walkway right outside of the room. Not sure which park they were from as they went off at 10:00PM. We were in the building with the Big Wheel and they went off over the 60s building. It was pretty cool.
