Ok... we're on the DxDP, but after looking through some of the menus, I'm getting a wee bit worried about what our kids are going to eat. DS6 is actually pretty good... he'll eat pizza, grilled cheese, quesadillas, bean tacos, sandwiches, hot dogs, steak, chili, soups, maybe even a hamburger if there is no other option. But DD4... oh, and I do love her... is hands-down the pickiest eater on the planet. She'll eat plain pasta (NO chance she'll eat the beef mac), regular mac n' cheese, eggs, and most soups. Funny thing is that she loves fresh-cooked salmon or tuna, but I didn't see any of these on the kids menus. Both kids love most fruits and veggies (thank goodness).

Last trip, we stayed off-site and cooked all of our dinners in the room, and some lunches. While I'm thrilled to be doing DxDP this time so that DH and I can indulge in the many options Disney offers, I want to make sure that the kids are well-fed... need happy and fueled kiddos to prevent major breakdowns, you know.

We ate at the Tusker House buffet for lunch one day - DH and I loved it, DS was ok with it, DD not so much. Buffets seem to offer the best chance we'll find something she'll eat, though, so I'd love any suggestions from seasoned Disney travelers. Thanks!

Kids are not limited to just the kids section of the self serve buffet, all may eat from any of the offerings. Most buffets have a salad section so you will have a selection of fruits and veggies if nothing else.

As PP said most buffets have the generic "kid section" that is usually - mac and cheese, green beans, chicken of some sort - nuggets, strips or roasted, mashed potatoes and sometimes pizza and/or pasta. There are always fruit, rolls and greens to fill in where you can.

CP has salmon. It is Ancho Chile Rubbed but it is NOT spicy and actually some of the best fish we had at WDW.

H&V had the best childrens' buffets according to my kids as it had roasted chicken, corn and pasta the night we were there.

Biergarten and Askerhaus are great restaurants that we love but if your child is really THAT picky it may be tough. Biergarten does not have a separate child's section. It does have roasted chicken, roasted pork, rolls, fruit, veggies and mac and cheese but it is not separated from their regular buffet.

Hope this helps some. :)

There are some pictures in my blog (link in my signature) of my children's plates at different restaurants. Just click on the restaurant review line on the right hand side of the screen when you get to the main page just go to each restaurant and there are some pictures. I know I have CP, H&V, GG and I think a couple others. I have not put Biergarten up yet. :)

Thanks everyone.... :)

I think we're going to just wing it. We've got character breakfasts nearly every morning - that's the one meal I don't worry about. We did a few of the same ones last time (Akershus, Hollywood & Vine) last time, so I know those buffet style ones will be totally fine. We're also doing Donald's Safari at Tusker House, Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table and Liberty Tavern.

I just booked most of our meals this afternoon, some buffet, some not. The non-buffet I think we'll just cross our fingers and hope that we can find something off of the kids' menu, or maybe an adult appetizer that we'll order for her instead. Here's what we've got:

2/7 50s Prime Time Cafe (lunch)
2/7 Marrakesh (dinner) - I know, long shot, but looks so yummy can't resist
2/8 Tony's Town Square (lunch)
2/9 Boma (dinner) - SO looking forward to this one!
2/10 Coral Reef (lunch)
2/10 Teppan Edo (dinner) - thought it'd be fun for the kiddos to watch
2/11 Rainforest Cafe (lunch)

We'd love to book Crystal Palace, but it'll be closed while we're there. :(

Crystal Palace- I'm a picky eater myself and they had tons of food that I liked. Like previous posters have said, your kids are not limited to the kids section of the buffet :thumbsup2

My nieces (and us) detested the food at 1900 PF and Chef Mickeys....I would not go back there again.

While I can agree with Chef Mickeys, is just was not what I had hoped. (Although we are going to give it a shot at breakfast this time!!)

We loved 1900 Park Fare. We enjoyed the food very much. And my dd ate like a little piggy there!! She actually ate the best there!!

I had no idea what to expect there, so maybe my expectations were not as high as Chef Mickeys?
