We would like to go to a good buffet for dinner in WDW but, I dont know all of the options or which one is best. We would perfer one in a Park but, it is fine if it is in a resort. Please Help! (Buffet ex: Boma + Cape Mays)

I personally haven't done a dinner buffet anywhere, but from what others have told me/what I have heard Crystal Palace has a nice selection. Also Cape May seems to get good reviews.

The best dinner buffet we have eaten at is Crystal Palace. We are doing it again this trip, and trying Boma as well.

Our favorites have been Boma, Cape May and the Crystal Palace. Funny that they've all been mentioned already! :)

This past week, we tried breakfast at CP and it was fantastic buffet food. And a great selection. Our server was also exceptional.

Boma is always a favorite dinner buffet since I love their interesting soups and salads. We didn't make it this trip though.

A surprise was Chef Mickey's. I really had low expectations but found the food was good! One salad items was a mixed seafood thingie--sorta ceviche-like--with shrimp and scallops. I could have eaten a quart of it. :rotfl:

We're not big buffet fans but we loved Boma! It's also a treat to go to AKL. The animal viewings are fun and the theming of the hotel is excellent. It's a nice break away from the parks.

We love the buffets at WDW little they loved to try new food with no worries if they didn't like they could get something else. IMO this is the best deal $$ you get appetizer/soup/salad, meal and lots of sweets. More than you get with the DDP at a "regular" non buffet restaurant. You might be surprised what your kids really like given the opportunity to try things even if you think they may not so our favorites are:

Love Crystal Palace, Salmon is the best on property. Great location

O'hana is excellent food not exactly a buffet but family style. DH loves all the "meat" that comes with and I love all the salad and sides. DD love the teriyaki noodle dish. So many options and the entertainment for the family kids dancing and the view of MK is beautiful.

Chef Mickey’s is a fun atmosphere the food is okay, but this is really more about the characters.

Boma is on our must list for each trip, the soups are what we look forward to the most at this buffet always excellent. The dishes are all excellent with ingredients that we don’t use often so it is a great way to try new flavors like cinnamon and lemon.

Cinderella @1900 Park Place in the GF is a great choice as well. Some reviews say it is loud and I can agree but not to the point of not enjoying meal. If your kids like Mac and Cheese my DD say this is the best on property and I have to admit I think so too. Love the Stepsisters they really steal the show at this character meal. I think this is the most relaxed buffet that you don't feel rushed to leave.

Now the buffets that we would not visit again.
Hollywood and vine, quality compared to others is not equal. Wait staff are nothing like other TS on property. We guessed they used to be at the 50's prime time and were still in character....

I guess that is the only one we will not visit again., it is the best way to try so many foods. When our DD was

I had BOMA for dinner and it was GREAT.. I plan on trying their breakfast in Janurary..

I had 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and it was Great too..

I think everyone should try Boma atleast once.. And make sure to try atleast a little of everything, there are some many good flavors there.. And a great staff..

Boma and Trail End are our favorite buffet dinners on property that we have tried- I would like to try Cape May but we haven't made it there for dinner yet.

I would have to say the rest are more about the characters and less about the food. Of the character ones 1900 Park Fare had the best food but I would say those without characters are definately higher quality food.

Trail's End depends a lot on your tastes and upbringing. DH loves it as he is grew up in the south in the country and it is like his mother's homecooked food. I think it is fine but it is definately southern style food- lots of butter and fat.

we're not usually buffet eaters except for breakfast but we did 1900 park fare last year on christmas eve for dinner. there was a big variety some of the things i remember were things like mac and cheese, turkey and fixings, a carving station, paella, edamame. i agree the stepsisters stole the show in a good way... i don't think i've EVER laughed so hard in my life. we didn't feel rushed either and the characters spent a lot of time at the table. i didn't love the food but most of our party of 6 did but i'd go again in a heartbeat just for the experience. we did crt that week as well for dinner and didn't have near as much fun.

Boma is a must do for us every trip. They have so many different choices that you don't find anywhere else and if you've never been in The Animal Kingdom Jambo House, I highly recommend it. That's the only dinner buffet we've ever been to. For breakfast, Chef Mickey's is the best as far as choices and atmosphere although if you're looking for romantic, that isn't it. It can get really loud there, but that is part of the charm.

I love Boma too. It's definitely the best we've had.
Chef Mickey's was good for Breakfast.
Hollywood and Vine - OK. I consider Crystal Palace about the same (ok) as far as food quality as H&V; however, the characters make it fun. Both are usually running behind, which I don't like.

We're trying Park Faire this year.

And we also love the Family Style food at Whispering Canyon at WL.

The only buffets in WDW that my family and I have went to for dinner is Chef Mickey's and Boma. We liked both locations and they are hard to compare with each other, however if we had to choose between them we would go with Boma.

We loved Crystal Palace! I also hear Ohana's is highly recommended though not a buffet, and we'll be going there on our next trip.

I'm going to throw Biergarten in here. My wife is a picky eater and was very apprehensive about it being a "German" buffet, but we liked it a lot! I figure it's due to either: a) our dinners we normally have on the farm aren't far removed from a lot of the German foods and/or b) it's very Americanized. But we ate schnitzel (pork), sausages, potatoes, vegetables and on and on and it was very very good.

And oh yeah, big big mugs of beer.

I'll toss in for Crystal Palace too.

We like the Pooh Characters, so that is a big draw.
And I like the egg station where you can get eggs to order.

Also, if you can do a breakfast buffet early (say 8am on a day the park opens at 9a) you are in past the gates and get a slight jump on the initial crowd. It can let you get in 2 or 3 rides before the day's crowd catches up to you & the lines start to back up. :goodvibes

We LOVE Tusker House in AK for breakfast, Chef Mickey's in Contemporary and 1800 Park Fare was "good" but after having dd get her makeover at Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique we want her to eat with the princesses.
We didn't like Akershus in Epcot (with the princesses). It is family style but not good.

This will be our 2nd trip in 3 months and I am looking for one more place to book a sit down dinner for me, my husband and 3 year old daughter. It can be anywhere in the parks or resorts. Also what is your fav quick service meal in Magic Kingdom?
Sorry, I posted this in the wrong place!

I feel like we are the odd ones here, but we did not like Boma at all. Normally, we like to try the more "exotic" foods, but we found that the food at Boma contained a lot of unusual spice combinations, many of which were on the sweet side. Loved the Zebra Domes, though!

We much prefer Chef Mickey's (breakfast and lunch), Ohana (dinner), Whispering Canyon and Tusker House (dinner). We've also tried Crystal Palace, Hollywood and Vine, and Cape May's and thought they were pretty good, too.
