which is pushed by dh

We've been in restaurants previously (not wdw) where the buffet station was not accessible at all-
So dh just chose items for his mom.

Are any buffets easier to navigate?
With tasty food:sail:

The buffet lines are accessible, but it might depend on how short she is. She may need your DH to serve the portions onto her plate while she holds it. IIRC, the buffets were just below shoulder height when I'm in my chair, so I managed fine. But I'm quite long waisted.

Thanks for your reply.

Dh serving portions is no issue-she's is indeed quite short..
it was more so she'd be able to choose her own food & not simply have what dh gives her.

May I recommend Trail's End at Fort Wilderness Camp Ground.

It is a fantastic buffet, by far the best value on property, and truly a hidden gem.

I have never found it to be too busy, it feels less chaotic than some of the other buffets.

SHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

You weren't supposed to tell anyone else about it! LOL

I M Fearless is right - Trail's End is awesome, and one of our most excellent favorite meals every trip! If you have the good fortune to have Kevin as your waiter, your meal will come with one of the sweetest, kindest CM's we have ever met! :)

But you don't want to go there... The food is no good (I'm a LIAR!) horrible (still a LIAR!) and terrible (yep, MY PANTS ARE ON FIRE!) and the service is abysmal (LIAR LIAR MY PANTS ARE ON FIRE) LOL

Lots of folks don't realize that Trail's End is that building on the right-hand side of Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and they share a kitchen. Well worth the trip out to Ft Wilderness... by boat or bus. It really is one of the hidden gems at WDW, and the food is superb!

Wow-thanks guys for the trails end suggestion.

We've never visited fort wilderness-so is it ok for parking and for dh pushing?

Kevin has a lot to live up to if he is indeed our server!!

If you are staying on property, the easiest way to get to Trail's End is by boat from the Magic Kingdom which is wheelchair accessible. It takes you from the main dock right opposite the security checkpoint in the very centre of the tapstyle gate line. The journey takes about 15 minutes and is very pleasant.

At the other end it is about 3 or 4 minute flat walk to the restaurant. The only slight issue with disabled accessibility that I can think of is that the restrooms are located outside the restaurant itself which would require you to go out and around the corner, there is a small ramp. This is worth remembering if you have kids or anyone who may need help during the meal.

The location of Trail's End is probably why it is not popular as people can't be bothered to go on the boat. We try and do it on a MK day and come out for a break before the Electrical Parade and Fireworks.

The restaurant is not open for lunch only breakfast and dinner. There is a great selection of food and it is super friendly. I have been with a wheelchair user, someone who has a large electric wheelchair and he had no difficulty getting up to the buffet. There is not usually a frantic line like you get at Boma or Crystal Palace at times.

That's super.
Thanks very much.

You are correct about the restrooms - they are outside. It's not a problem to get to them and even to leave your meal to go and come back. Another nice thing is that there is a Companion Restroom between the Men's and Ladies' Restrooms.

If you get there early, there is not a lot to see, but you can walk around by the beach, the little shop and a horse area. It's all accessible by paved paths.

We also prefer to use the boat. It's a nice trip over and no switching buses or getting the wheelchair tied down.
If there is a problem with the large accessible cruisers, they arrange other transportation. One time, the cruiser was temporarily out of commission and they added extra buses to go to Wilderness Lodge.mwe got a bus from there to go back to MK (but, you could catch any bus from WL and go to any other park or Disney Springs).
On our last trip, the cruiser to go back to MK had broken down. We had a choice of taking buses or going on the boat to WL. There was a water level issue getting on at Fort Wilderness and getting off at WL; the captain took care of it by directing the other passengers to move to one side of the boat to raise that side. It worked very well.

Two others that we like -

Biergarten at Epcot in Germany: there are not a lot of kids and the area getting up to the buffet is large. A German polka band provides about a 20 music set every 30 minutes.
The only potential downside is that you will share a table with other guests unless your own group is 8-10 people.

Tucker House in Africa in AK: this is our favorite, but it is noisy because it is a character meal and there are lots of children. The room where the buffet is actually located is huge.

Fully appreciate all replies and extra info provided too.

Your description of Biergarten sounds superb aside from sharing a table-that would not be appreciated by dmil
We visited rainforest cafe at AK on our last trip and shr really liked it there
