hi! i'm looking into booking for june 2008. Being that we won't be at the hotel very much and are looking to stay on a budget I am looking for any recommendations you may have on a budget friendly off site hotel. as close to the disney property as can be is helpful
thanks!

How much do you want to spend? That woulg be good to know before recommending any certain hotels.

I always recommend Comfort Suites Main Gate East. You can usually get this place for around $70-$80 on hotelmartusa.com. It has a free deluxe continental breakfast where you can make your own waffles. The rooms sleep up to six so you have a bit more room. There is a review on the review board above. The title says Feb 06 but it is really referring to Feb 07.

If you want something a little less expensive, someone just recommended Ramada Main Gate West. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1556255
Good luck.

I'm looking for something around $70 a night maybe. we don't plan on being at the hotel very much so we don't want some big resort hotel but also not something trashy ;)

Best Western Lakeside. Clean, great location, fridge in room, nice pools and inexpensive.

Look on the review boards for Ramada Maingate West. Someone just posted a good review on there. It was $59./nite.

Also agree with nala-h about staying in a condo, townhouse or pool home for cheaper than a hotel room but much nicer. :thumbsup2

We booked the same hotel for 2 nights in December so I'm glad to hear it got good reviews! We're staying 2 nights for only $100 total, including tax and all that.

I like the Ramada Main Gate West as well. We book in advance and get it for 35 a night. It's clean and had a safe and fridge. It's just outside the property, so it's quick to drive anywhere on WDW property.

We live about an hour away. When WDW resorts went smoke free, we decided to look for off site alternatives. I took a morning and drove over and just stopped in at all the hotels close by checking prices. That's the rate they offered me, but I had to pay in full in advance to get it. We usually just stay over on weekends, so now when we check out we just book for the next time :)

The review posted looks like they got a bigger room than we do. We just get a regular room with a queen bed.

Hi to you too, Rox!

We always stay at the Qualtiy Inn Maingate West. It is at mile marker 4 on 192 West. I just got it for $39.23 inc. tax at hotelkingdom.com You can book directly through their site at qualityinnorlando.com It has always been clean, coffeemaker in room, and free breakfast. :)

Another vote for BW Lakeside. It is a little off the main highway so road noise not to bad but is within walking distance of restaurants, etc., along 192. Also it is very close to Disney World using Sherbeth Road (I think that is the name) off of 192. If you look around can find some pretty good deals.
