Hey Everyone

Quick question, please help.... going to WDW for four days in October with my 16 year old son. Our last day in FL. is Monday, but not til late in the afternoon, so we'd like a big breakfast that day.

We aren't visiting any parks that day, and we are staying at the Coronado.

Could anyone give me suggestions on where we might have a nice big breakfast (buffet or otherwise) where the food is good and interesting (it doesn't have to be a character breakfast...but we aren't opposed to it if the food is good)

We'd like to skip Chef Mickey's this trip, and not interested in the buffet at the Swan - But any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Sue

We really enjoy the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club. They had a ton of different food offerings, and Minnie, Chip Dale and Goofy too!

Our 2 favorite breakfast spots are Boma's at AKL (standard breakfast buffet fare plus some really interesting and different choices) and Trails End over at Ft Wilderness...my teens HAVE to have breakfast there at least once every trip. It is fun and cheap ($10 per person including drink I believe)....all of the usual breakfast fare and really great breakfast pizza (and monster donuts, my DD's favorite). We like going over there because it is never crowded and after we eat we like to walk through the horse barn where they keep the main street horses and the petting zoo, etc....just a fun side trip....especially on a day when you aren't hurrying for the parks!!

I second Boma's at AKL. We always save that for our last day and then hit the road. There is such a good variety of food and SOOOO much of it.

I agree with SBinKy go to the trail's end. They have an great buffet and afterwards you walk through and see the petting zoo and ponies and peacocks . :flower:

Plus if you ask they will have the chef give you cheese sauce for your scrambled eggs...my DS 20's favorite. :) And my favorite....getting your picture taken by the stuffed bear. ;)

Never been to Boma, but 1900 Park Fare has a good breakfast buffet. This is a character breakfast with Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and I think Tigger was there too. All your typical breakfast food, baked goods, fruit and a kids buffet. The atmosphere was nice and I enjoy checking out the other resorts - especially the ones I can't afford to stay at!! :rotfl2: :magnify:

The restaurant at POR, Boatwrights, has AWESOME breakfasts. Sweet potato pancakes with pecan butter and Blue Print Omlettes are fabulous!!!!!

My favorite is Boatwrights - love the Eggs Benedict.

Also, the Maya Grill at CS has a pretty nice buffet breakfast. At least it did.

I also agree that Boma has a great breakfast but I also love Olivas at OKW. They have a great breakfast also.

I love Ohanas breakfast. We have ate there twice and the food was wonderful both times. It is not a buffet, it is the family style AYCE. The pineapple bread and Mickey waffles are the best.

The Maya Grill where you are staying has a nice buffet--good, but not terribly "interesting", in that it has mostly the usual suspects. A breakfast burrito is about as adventurous as it gets.
Boma is another buffet and more interesting food-wise.
Table service--either Kona or Boatwrights. Both have excellent breakfasts. Get the blueprint omlette with ALL the fillings at Boatwrights and you'll be full until dinner!!

Did somebody say "Monster Doughnuts"???? Let's discuss......

Boma's, Cape May Cafe or 1900 Parkfare would be my choices. I haven't tried the breakfast buffet at Maya Grill, but if I were staying at CSR like you are I'd probably give it a try because of the extra convenience.

first choice..........Boma (no characters here, but great food!)

Second choice.......Chef Mickey's

We have enjoyed breakfast with our 13 yo son at Boma (although we were more impressed than he was), Kona (We all love the food here.), and WCC (Fun choice and filling food -- dh and I are having breakfast here on our first morning at the end of July).

Lots of favorites for breakfast! DH would say Fresh at the Dolphin but I have not been... I would say Boatwright's, Concourse Steak or WCC. For buffets, we like Trail's End, Boma and Maya.

We had a very nice buffet breakfast at Maya Grill last year, when visiting the Coronado Springs resort. We enjoyed the "grown-up" atmosphere with our teenage sons. Perhpas the food wasn't as exotic as Boma's, but I think they had a make-to-order omlet station. We had plenty to eat and thought the food was excellent. We're staying at CS for the first time this Christmas and look forward to having a few meals at Maya Grill. Enjoy! :earsgirl:

I have to agree with Cape May, the breakfast buffet was great in January. My other choice would be the Kona at the Poly.
