What are the best restaurants to have dates at for breakfast? My boyfriend is a big breakfast eater, and we want some alone time this trip, so we're planning to have a few mornings to ourselves, and want to know what the best restaurants are for breakfast! Since it will just be us we want to avoid character meals, but they can be in a park, resort, and dining plan doesn't matter since we'd be paying OOP for any breakfasts we go to.

I've had The Wave on my list of places to visit for breakfast for a long time.

If you are close by, the Garden Grove at the Swan/Dolphin has a REALLY good breakfast buffet.

I'll have to research Garden Grove. I've had breakfast at Fresh before and really liked it, is it similar?

Garden Grove has the full breakfast buffet with create-your-own omelettes, incredible fresh fruit/veggie juices/smoothies, and all the usual breakfast fare, stepped up a notch. Definitely better than your typical Disney breakfast buffet (although I've always heard great things about the Wave).

We didn't end up having the time to eat at Fresh when we stayed there so I can't compare it unfortunately.

The theming is Central Park - very pretty.

The Wave.

Kona's breakfast is amazing, but you may get tripped on by Ohana-goers.

Boma.

Grand Floridian Cafe!

Olivia's at Old Key West has a nice breakfast, too.

Kona is without question our favorite breakfast place (and I don't even like breakfast). Between the samoan (eggs benedict on pulled pork hash), tonga toast, and macadamia nut pancakes its a no brainer. On top of that add in pressed pot coffee and bloody mary's and it our own little version of disney breakfast heaven.

We also enjoyed our breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe and found it just a mere step below Kona. Tusker House is another favorite, but it is a character meal. The food is truly unique and yep, they have amazing bloody marys too

Kona is amazing! We love Kona...I have also heard excellent things about Olivia's and Boma as well. We have Boma on our to do list next trip, LOL

It does sound very similar to Fresh, which I was considering booking, so maybe I'll book this instead.

Boma at AKL. Captain's Grille at YC. Trail's End at FW.
All three of those are on our "maybe" list. Trail's End and Captain's Grille both offer buffets, which seem to be a better value, as coffee and juice is included, and I know my boyfriend has a big appetite and a variety of food to choose from. I don't hear a lot about either of those places though.

I hadn't really looked at Kona or the GF Cafe as breakfast options. Would you put either of them over the Wave or Boma.

Never thought of Olivia's! I'll have to check out their menu.

We're doing Tusker House on a different day with the rest of our family, that is one of my favorite breakfasts on property. I'll have to think about adding Kona.

I agree with the above and would add Olivia's.
I'll look into Olivia's.

Boma I've actually been to for breakfast a few years ago, so it's probably going to be one we go to. Olivia's I'm really going to have to look into.

The Wave is really good!
I think we're going to go there on our departure day.

Captain's Grille and Kona get my vote!
Can you tell me more about Captain's Grille? I don't hear a lot about it.

My girlfriend and I always go to Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast every time we're at Disney. The french toast is out of this world, and everything I've had there is top-notch. Plus, it's at the Grand Floridian, which always is romantic/enjoyable to walk through.

Captain's grille is at the Yacht Club. I am not sure where you are staying, but it would be easily accessed from the Epcot Area resorts, the International Gateway of Epcot and just a boat ride to HS. It is off the lobby, but more separated than Kona is from the Poly lobby. It has a New England feel, so to me is "homey," but I am from Maine. Three standout dishes: the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry conserve and lemon curd. Best pancakes I have ever had! They have a smoked salmon plate that is an enormous serving (our salmon loving table of 5 actually left some on the plate) of very good smoked salmon with traditional accompaniments. My DH had it with a gluten free bagel, so not sure how it would normally be presented. On a lighter note, their homemade granola bars, yogurt, and fruit was beautiful (it came garnished with an orchid) and so good my kids came to blows over it. They have waffles and egg dishes, too. They also offer a breakfast buffet, but we prefer to order a la carte, so I can't speak to that.

It's not romantic or anything but it's delicious.. Trails End Buffet. We've done that several times a trip. We also like Whispering Canyon Cafe

I've never been to these places, but I can't wait to try The Wave and Kona for breakfast. I hear the Grand Floridian Cafe is good as well.
