Best breakfast buffet that's not character dining?

My boys are getting too old for the character dining (at least they say they are til we get there hahaha!) but DH doesn't want to give up his breakfast buffet! What's the best place for breakfast without the added expense of character dining? Thanks!

Captain's Grill at BC and the Wave at the Contemporary also have good breakfast buffets.

We love Boma, however that's one of the pricier breakfast buffets. We also found a new gem - Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. $16.99 for adults, $9.99 for kids & it was very plentiful & always hot & fresh.

Boma is great but not easy to get to and pricey. CG is also good and you can order from the menu if you are not into a buffet. Trails End at FW was good but I haven't been for a long time. Not easy to get to unless you are staying in MK area.

Another vote for Boma! It had a nice balance of typical breakfast items (e.g., waffles, pancakes, eggs, etc.) with some African influenced items (e.g., quinoa). As the PP said, it's not the easiest breakfast place to go to if you don't have a car or don't want to take a taxi. Allears has the price listed as $24.50 for adults and $14 for kids.

Thanks everyone for your replies! We're staying in the MK area and we will have a car so all options are open to us! :thumbsup2

Since you are staying in the MK area, Trail's End at Fort Wilderness is a great option! There is also The Wave at the Contemporary! Both are accessible by boat from the WL.

In the Epcot area there is Captain's Grille, which I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews about.

Lastly, there is my personal favorite, Boma. Boma is at AKL, so great for a visit before an AK day! :thumbsup2 The food is wonderful, as is the atmosphere. Definitely NOT a character meal. :)

Whispering canyon is awesome! Great buffet and funny antics.

yes whispering Canyon cafe is a good choice. We are doing dinner but I have heard good things about the breakfast. Although the breakfast is not neccessarily a buffet. You can order regular menu items, or you can order the all you can eat skillet which comes with limited items. It is not like a buffet with "go serve yourself" stations that also include pastries and such. So make sure you are clear about that here is what it comes with:

Our Famous Canyon Skillet All-You-Care-To-Enjoy - Scrambled eggs, Red Bliss potatoes with sauteed onions, bacon and sausage, buttermilkbiscuits, sausage gravy and waffles. Priced per person. - $14.99
you see not quite a buffet!!

But after doing some research I would do the Trails End Restaurant at Ft Wilderness. The Buffet menu looks awesome!!

Breakfast Buffet served 7:30am-11:00am - Fresh Fruit, Assorted cereals, sausage, bacon, Omelet of the Day, Scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, grits, oatmeal, beef hash, Mickey waffles, hot cinnamon spiced apples and Freshly baked pastries. Guests 10 and up $13.99 Guests 3 to 9 $8.99 - $13.99 *

Definitely Boma (as long as not in the surcharge season).
