oooo I need ideas.... my teen guy kind of dislikes reading, except for the Kingdom Keepers series (and he still loves Wimpy kid books lol)
I just ordered him the latest book in the series, but it doesn't come out till March, so he told me he won't read anything till then!

(he reads anything just fine, but he doesn't enjoy it. he canot be my son

)
Ok, seems to me you just need something that he will find interesting...that seems to be the trouble, he doesn't see much that he relates to.
He reads the Wimpy Kid books, perhaps more comedic books would interest him? If he liked Kingdom Keepers, there is the Peter Pan series by the same author. The Lemony Snicket books are also a lot of fun.
Someone earlier mentioned Neil Gaiman...I think The Graveyard Book might be a good suggestion...basic plot is like The Jungle Book, but instead of a boy being raised in the jungle by animals, he is being raised by ghosts in a graveyard...it is award-winning, and one of Gaiman's best (he also wrote Coraline another good one, but scarier...which they based the movie on). He has more adult books as well (American Gods is a great adult book, but not suitable for younger teens due to some sex, etc.)
He also wrote a book with another one of my favorite authors, Terry Pratchett, called: Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch...this is a comedic version of the apocalypse...and one of my favorites (and BBC Radio is doing a special this christmas with an all star cast reading it...I can't wait to find it here in America afterwards!)
Terry Pratchett also has a ton of funny books in his Discworld series, there is a subset that is young adult novels called the Tiffany Aching series...with a bunch of scottish fairies, so boys like it too (even if the main character is a witch in training). But his book The Nation is about a young boy from a south pacific island that is the only survivor from his village after a huge storm...and despite that description, it is funny...very funny.
And of course, the old standby_Douglas Adams Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy (all five books...that's part of the joke) are a teen favorite...he may not grasp it, but so much in the books are now part of general life...the actual "guidebook" being an inspiration behind the iPad and wikipedia.
