Hi again,

Planning a trip for Sept 2005 and am still weighing in all the million different options re accommodations.

We may do 2 rooms at POP, DH & I and my 3 boys in the other, the 2 bathrooms and extra space is a draw. Can we get a sm fridge in one room and how much? We may have some other friends join us and they will get one room also, so which bldg is best? Closer to pool, closer to bus, closer to food court

And what is exactly available in the food court?

I will check other categories here at DIS but hopefully someone has recently been and has all the info

I stayed at POP in Sept. and will be returning in January, I'll try to answer some of your questions.

We stayed in the 50's building and found it to be a great location. It has its own pool which was usually less busy or we could also go to the main pool whichj was a very short walk. The laundry room was also less busy than the main one. It was a very short walk to the food court, buses and parking lot as well.

If you check out www.allearsnet.com you can see the food court menu. We thought the food was pretty good.

I believe the fridge is $10/nt. We purchased styrofoam cooler at Publix and just changed the ice every day.

I too would recommend the 50's or the 60's.
We were just there, some family stayed in the 50's great location!
We stayed in the 60's, also great if you don't mind paying the extra 10 bucks a night.
We "inherited" a styrofoam cooler left behind! No need for a fridge.
The other buildings-especially the 80's seemed so far away when were checking everything out!

We just stayed at Pop this past weekend. We had the 70's Bldg. on the lake side. It was a short walk to the Main Building and the pools. Our longest walk was from the parking lot where we parked our car to our room and that was really not too bad. See the picture in my sig. line that was what I saw when I opened my door every morning. And it was very quite on that side.

We just got back with our 3 kids alos and had rooms in the 90's section. A bit of a walk to the food but we enjoyed the scenery along the way. The bonus was close parking, quiet, and empty pool.

Food- we had moms buttermilk chicken special and the mashed potatoes were excellent. DD had some kind of sandwich that she loved- Dh had a burger-o.k., and can't even remeber what DS had. We only ate here one night.

I've stayed in the 70's building 3 times now. I like the location, not too far from the main building but away from all the pool activity. Just got back and stayed on the lake side, which was very nice.

50's building... I stayed there in August. Fairly quiet except I decorated my window too much so I heard people commenting on it. :) Other than that just a few flushes of a toilet.

Hello everyone,

We stayed in the 70s last August and I really didn't find it too far from anything - it's such a great place to walk around, so much to look that any walk was enjoyable. You might not be right on top of a pool but, like I said, it's a great place to walk around and see the sites.

Have you thought about renting a villa from a DVCer?

You could get a one bedroom at OldKeyWest for as little as 16points/night...washer/dryer, FULL kitchen, livingroom with DVD, kingsize bed in the mstr, jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, onsite, pool with a slide...a two bedroom is 22 points/night, which would give you the additioanl bedroom, another bathroom, 2 queen beds, a total of 3 TV's...and no tax when you rent:)

Current rental prices are around $10/point...

Just a thought...:)

Have fun!!!

All the discussions about the best building at Pop. We were in 70s, but all the building are close to the centre area, or so it seemed to me...
