best beach in orlando area

Looking for suggestions for best Ocean beach to take kids too during our Nov trip?? Any suggestions & why???

Well, you aren't going to find any ocean type beaches in the Orlando area. Orlando is landlocked... so the best you can do is drive about 1 hour east to Daytona, 1 hours southeast to Cocoa Beach or 1 1/2 hours west to Tampa. Another suggestion would be too look into a couple of nights at the Disney Vero Beach resort, located on Vero Beach.

Not sure about November, but
I like COCOA , why, closer, free
parking, nice bath houses, clean
and no rocks.
Been is June, Aug and Sept,
never in November.

The Gulf coast! St Pete beach is gorgeous. Clear blue/green water, white powder sand, seashells, clean! About 1 1/2 hours from WDW.

Thought this info might be appreiciated... it was in the AOL online news today.

"Last year was Florida' first year participating in the healthy beach program, which calls on counties to monitor the state's 316 beaches. All but six of Florida's bum beaches were in Brevard County, home to Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne and Merritt Island.

Florida Department of Health spokesman Bill Parizek told Reuters that monitoring was already ongoing in Brevard County's most visited beaches, which were not mentioned in the survey.

''We've got to look at this and see where these beaches are,'' Parizek said, adding he knew that one bum beach the group listed had been closed for years.

''I think our beaches all in all are good beaches -- Florida still has some of the best beaches in the country,'' he said, adding his department surveys the water quality of 304 different beaches every two weeks."

Watch out for those sharks!!!!

...or Clearwater Beach, same description, slightly less travelling!!
