Hi Everyone,
We are going back to Florida next August for 3 weeks, hopefully spending 2 at the theme parks and one at a beach resort chillling....my question is which is the best beach area to go to..St pete,Clearwater etc. There are 4 of us
hubby,me and 2 children 14/8 yrs..any help would be appreciated ..thanks:)

Clearwater is lovely but very quiet! Cocoa Beach on the East side is IMO nicer and livelier, plus the bonus of being near the Space Centre if you looking for a day out.
Whichever way you go it will be a well needed rest and you will enjoy.

Any of the beaches on the West coast. We don't like the East coast beaches at all, Cocoa, Daytona etc are fine for a few hours but wouldn't want to spend any longer there.
Saying that I wouldn't spend a whole week again at any beach resort. We once did it(Clearwater) and after 2 days we were wishing we were back in Orlando. We only do day trips to the coast now.

I have been to both Clearwater and st Petes both lovely beaches one is stony and one sand can't remember which though so depends what you like hotel are in perfect position on the beach

We have just day tripped to Clearwater and St Petes. Like the PP we're not big fans of the East coast beaches so we stick to the Gulf coast. I've heard fantastic things about Ana Maria Island, looks fab but we haven't been there so I can't recommend it although it might be worth a look!

Got to be Clearwater or St Petes for in fact most beaches on the west cost of Florida do it for us...

Siesta Key beaches are lovely - white sand that stays cool :goodvibes:

There's a great set of really quiet beaches my sister takes us to when we're out there, but they have no resorts near them.

Thanks everyone,
.perhaps i might have a re think on the length of stay and perhaps do 4 days, but once again thanks for all the suggestions ...

We love Anna Maria Island - fantastic beaches with a very laid back feel. We also like longboat key, again fantastic beaches but a bit more up market.

If I won the lottery think I'd buy a house on Anna Maria island - beach front with a big pool of course :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
