My parents are heading to BCV next week and staying in a studio. They'd like one fairly close to an elevator, maybe high enough to have an EPCOT view (we stayed in a 2BR last year and had a GREAT view). Any advice on numbers/units?:confused3

My advice is the best unit is the one you get! We have found making requests general helps the most. The more specific you are, the more disappointed you will be.

I would not recommend requesting a specific room. We did that once at WL (actually the request was supposed to say XXX or similar). Well, that room was occupied and since they didn't know why we wanted that room they just put us in any old room. We wanted a high floor at the far end of the building and we were assigned a first floor by the main building! :lmao: We were able to change fortunately but you're better off putting in a request just as you did here - stating what you would prefer....and of course also understanding that it may not happen.

Also, for us, it meant that we had to wait for a room. If you're more interested in getting into a room early it's best to just take what's available. In the end, DH who had not wanted that first floor room decided that would have been just fine! It might have been emphasized by me as we would walk past it while waiting and I'd comment on how we could be sitting on our patio, or be settled and headed to the parks, rather than killing time walking around the resort. :rolleyes1

Are there any particular disadvantages to the ground floor rooms at BCV? We're thinking of staying there a few nights and don't really feel a need for a high floor with Epcot/fireworks views since we plan to be in the parks in the evenings anyway. I'd rather not have to deal wtih elevators but would be fine with them if there are good reasons for not wanting a ground-floor room--how are they in terms of noise and foot traffic?

In September I had a room that was near the bend in the building, first floor, across from the entrance/exit to the villa pool. I had thought it may be noisy with people coming from cars, going to/from pools, but no, it was fine! Easy access, I sat on the patio and read...there I may have noted some road noise, but it wasn't enough to distract me from my reading. It was a room that was ready for us around 12 when we checked in, and I would take it again without a doubt. This was a dedicated studio.

"Disadvantage" and this may be major for some is that you are on the ground level and there are snakes around BCV. I sat and saw oodles of the lizards, some weren't even an inch long, and I did see a very small snake, it was about 6 inches long...but there are others. I saw lots of bunnies too. I see a snake just about every time that I stay at BCV...some don't notice them, but I do.
