Hi everyone...I've been doing some research on a bag for me (the mom) to carry around at DW and thought perhaps I could get some recommendations for cool "guy bags" that my DH would carry without feeling his manhood being threatened. It would be great (well, for me at least haha) to share the weight of the water bottles and snack foods with him (and pressed pennies and maps and sunscreen and wipies...).

Thanks!

Note: Fanny packs need not apply :)

We do not carry bags ourselves ( we are lucky, being basically all adults all we need is $ and sunglasses ), but I always see a lot of men with backpacks.

I bring an Eddie Bauer Backpack with me but I usually put it in my daughters stroller.

Oakely has some nice one starp bags that I have been looking at

I bring my backpack, it's black and my husband has no problems carrying it. Now if I brought the black guess one that looks like a purse, that might be a different story. The only "bad" thing about the backpack is if you're going in the heat, they are very hot and your back gets real sweaty.

Timbuk 2 messenger bag.

I have been working on hubby for a few months now telling him he needs a "man bag". I make him carry a reuseable water bottle so thats problem #1. Then when we go on trips he's always saying "hey put this in your purse" or "let me get something out of your purse". So now, especially since we are in the adoption process, I said he's gonna have to get his own bag. The Timbuk 2 (company name) bags are really durable and look man cool. They can be found at sports or outdoors type stores. Here Whole Earth and my bike store have them. But they are available on line too. The messenger bag is thier classic style.

I'm too newbie to post links but its timbuk2 dot com

I think the navy, khaki, or black baggallini are manly enough. DH doesn't mind carrying mine, but he does call it something else that rhymes with bag-allini when I make him carry it, just to bug me. :sad2: He likes his Jansport black backpack too. I think it's a great idea to carry separate bags in case you need to split up.

All of them of course:lmao: ....that is all of the ones that come out of every store!!! That's what my DH does! On a much more serious note, we find a back pack works well! We have one that has a mini cooler bag in the bottom, good for a few waters or pops and the top holds enough room for snacks, sandwiches, and wipes and sunscreen. It has a drawstring top to keep it all inside great! We found it at a yard sale, sorry, but maybe someone else has seen them in stores. Good luck, pack mule Dad!
