What's the best backpack to take into the parks both for adults and for kids (teenagers)?? Looking for something to hold the basics but also be comfortable as well.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

DH likes the his Under Armour, I like a small shoulder pack, DD (11)likes her Travelon sling to hold everything from autograph book to ipod:laundy:

I loves me some Vera Bradley - really well designed, some very nice patterns, and it comes in two sizes.

We have always carried a lands end diaper bag backpack but this trip we don't need a diaper bag and I don't want something that big. I got the baggelini sling and I really like it so far.

DW got me this one from Amazon for Christmas, and I am really impressed. Has a large cooler area on the bottom for snacks and water, and is roomy up top as well. I specifically wanted it for WDW, but it has already gotten used for other things as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Comfort and look are probably the most important as DH will get stuck carrying ours if we don't use a stroller or if he ventures off with one of the kiddos on his own. The teenagers going with us this time will also have to carry their own bags but still look "cool" in the process. :cool2:

I might be 20 years old, but I only ever use my stitch stuffed animal like bag.. :thumbsup2

It might just be me though, and I don't exactly care about looking cool..

The most comfortable backpack is the one that my wife wears. What makes it so comfortable is the fact that she wears it. :)

$10 backpack @ walmart. Eastport is the brand I think. Ours get a bit disgusting (from food, drinks, getting tossed on the floor by little ones) and once they're worn out from washing, I have no problem throwing it away. Besides, for $10, who cares if DS2 spills his ultra-blue koolaid on it? :)

LeSportSac. This is the BEST brand for me. They have backpaks, across the shoulder bags (my fave for easy access), and other bags that may suit you. My favorite thing is the material of the bag, it doesn't make you sweaty (hate that!) and it's pretty weather proof. AND their designs are so fun! Macys is great for having these on sale Just make sure the bag is big enough to hold a water bottle! :flower3:

I just used a small Vera Bradley backpack last week and I loved it. Lots of pockets for organization - especially the flap pocket in the front that held my camera and cell phone and was really easy to get to because it is held closed by a hidden magnet. I usually use a Nike gym sack and this was so much better because of the organization.

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: Well my DH won't get to discover that backpack!

I totally agree with your logic! Who knows what will be spilled on it...I've got two boys. :scared:

When I was in grade school the two big backpack companies were Eastpac and Jansport. I still have one of each that are about a couple decades old. They both offered lifetime warranties; many people weren't aware of that. I had one wear out and all I had to do was contact the company. They sent me a pre-paid bag and label to send them the bag. Their policy was to repair the bag, and if repair was not possible, replace it. I think it was easier and cheaper for them to just replace it. I was able to select the model I wanted from their catalog equal to the original retail price of my bag (which was already several years old) or I could pay the difference for a more expensive bag. I chose a messenger bag (free) that I still have 15 years later.

Another Vera Bradley fan!

I have both of the backpack sizes and I actually take both with me. On the drive down the big one becomes my purse and I use the small one to pack DD7 hair bows and smaller delicate things I don't want crushed. For the parks, on days when I need to carry a lot of camera/video equipment I use the larger one, otherwise, the small one works great. :)

I used this one for the first time last summer. It was great. Held everything I needed and had plenty or compartments so I wasn't always digging and looking. The zippered compartment on the strap worked great for tix with easy access for fastpasses. I also love how you can decorate it with disney jibbitz.

We use an old Camelbak that we took the water container out of. I know that sounds weird, but we love Camelbak as they are well constructed and narrower. The narrow aspect makes it easy to stow on rides or transportation. It works great and has lots of nice mesh pockets that are easy to access--sun screen or sunglasses go in there for us.

I use a Mountainsmith Quantum...it is a combo backpack...it can hold a full size SLR camera in the top, camera or other gear in the back 2 pouches, and there are several mesh pouches on the sides for waterbottles etc.

Best of all it has a built in rainhood that covers the whole bag, and the zippers are all sealead/waterproof.
