Best backpack to carry in the park??

I've tried so many! I need a medium sized one that doesnt get too hot against my back, is large enough to carry toddler gear, can take some abuse, and is (of course) cute! Not interested in hiking kind as hubby already has one of those. Just looked at the LYLAS vinyl covered ones from Vera Bradley, but man are they expensive!

I personally prefer cross bodies over backpacks. Just feel like it's a lot easier. Granted I'm just packing for myself, but not having to remove to take out is nice.

How much are you planning on not leaving in the stroller? What is on the must carry on body at all times list?
