Best Astigmatism Contacts?

Ohhhh yes! That reminds me...The solution can be an issue as well. I use Bio_____ (drawing a blank. Clear bottle, blue letters) and love it. I haven't had any issues with dryness or anything since switching. I think that kind of thing is a body chemistry thing though.

BioTrue. That is what I use, also.

One of the problems is that even if you find something you like, it may not be available after a while because the manufacturer discontinued it. I remember using Allergan Complete, but after a while it was discontinued and the various solutions from AMO weren't quite the same. And AMO got bought out by Abbott? Alcon kept on changing their formula, although I understand that it was primarily because they only used a single preservative that had issues killing some microbes. Right now they have two products that weren't even around when I started wearing contacts.

Regular AOSept used to be considered the gold standard for the least amount of irritation, especially when used with MiraFlow and SoftWear Saline (that stuff was great too). I don't believe any are available. Now it's just AOSept Plus, which contains some sort of cleaner.

My eye doc also recommended aerosol saline in a can. It was sealed and nothing got in under pressure. It was sterile without requiring any preservatives. I don't know of any makers out there any more.

I wore old fashioned hard lenses for years, and those were okay. My last three ophthalmologists really discouraged contact lenses and laser correction with a severe astigmatism. So I went back to glasses.

My daughter wears Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism. She got started in 6th grade and has never complained at all about them.

OP, sounds like you're on the right track heading back to the eye doctor. Good luck getting it worked out.
