I was looking for a possible rainy day activity at WDW. I read somewhere that one of the hotels had one of the best arcades on property. I "think" it was either the Poly, GF, or Contemporary. We are staying at SoG which is close, so I thought this could be a good back up. Anybody know exactly which hotel it would be?
Not interested in DisneyQuest this trip.
Thanks,

Recommends the arcade at the Contemporary. It says......

Arcade
The "fun" part of the Food and Fun Center is a very large video arcade, one of the best on Walt Disney World property. There is also a pool table in this games room.

Have fun at Disney!

I agree, CR is the best arcade at a resort. I'm a pinball junkie, and although they don't have that many pinball machines their, it is still the largest arcade around, and rarely busy. I've been to many of the arcades, and the game selection is very similar.

Yes, the Contemporary is great! Our kids (6 & 10) also liked it since some of the games give out tickets that can be redeeemed for prizes - and the prizes are a bit better than the ones at Chuck E. Cheese...

DS & I spent time at the Contemp arcade playing air hockey

Thanks to all.
I don't think I'll tell DS8 about it unless we actually need to go, he'll never
do the parks!

Absolutely the Contemporary. It is really big and a lot of fun on a rainy day.

Absolutely agree! My boys thought the CR arcade was awesome. The Poly arcade was a joke. That place needs some serious TLC. The YC/BC arcade isn't bad if you are over in that area.

The Cont did have a large arcade. For the mods, CSR has 2 arcades, one in the main building and one by the main pool area.

I remember the Contemporary arcade being great growing up. We also visited the arcade/counter service area at GF when my family stayed there, it was less than great.
Two questions, don't know if anyone knows:
1) is the Pop arcade decent? It is written up as this great arcade with all sorts of games, but I'm old fashion, so current stuff doesn't appeal to me; give me Pac Man.
which leads to my second question,
2) does anyone know if any arcade on the property has a Tron machine? Contemporary used to have Tron and Discs of Tron, but I didn't know if the games were traded out for more up to date machines.
I know this is kind of weird.
Thanks.

The Tron machine is at Disney Quest. I saw it there last week.

Personally, if you want really large arcade and rainy day, go to Disney Quest. I couldn't get my kids out of there.

Too bad you don't want DQ. If you haven't been there, it is incredible. However, I would not recommend it on a rainy day since it gets very, very busy. After DQ, I vote for the Contemporary.

My DS, 6, loves arcades. I finally grew out of them, but I take him almost every night. I can still remember when I was a kid and judged a hotel on how big its arcade was.

We just got back from 10 days at Universal (trip reports coming soon). Universal's hotels have terrible gamerooms. My son was kind of bumming.

The Contemporary arcade is definitely the best. It's been a tradition to go play there for an hour or so for as far back as I can remember... and I'm 31 now. My husband and my brother and I still like to go play Skee Ball and all the other cheesy ticket games.

And we love air hockey, too!
