DS was just B****ing about party bags I got for the kids.. Men....

Do the rest of the moms on here do the party bags, at least when they were younger?

So, tell me...when you do parties for your daughters, do you do gift bags for the kids who come to the party??

I do but I've changed what I do now that the kids are getting older. WHen they were little I did stickers, pens, candy, note pads, plastic rings, that kind of stuff. FOr Belle's last party I did $10 gift cards to the movies (there were less kids and it was easy) and for Tink's last party I did $5 gift cards to Starbucks. The kids LOVED the starbucks ones - they all felt so grown up being able to order and pay for their own drinks.!

Thanks. I sure ds will gave a great time, and probbly me, but my DH..he gets crabby super easily. So, if it super crowded, I am going to send him home and tell him to come back in 2 hrs

WE think it is nuts...to be spending our kids B-day Money on other Kids....We buy gifts for the Other Kids on their B-days....That is enough>>>...Who came up with this concept...Had to be a Kid......Or some talk show host telling us how we should act....I never got a Gift bag when I was a Kid!@!!!!!

DS actual bday is the 26th and this is the best weekend for us.. The next best one was too close to Christmas. Plus, dh works every other weekend and this wekend he is off

Don't ever ever be sorry for sticking around and taking care of your kids!! That is the biggest and most important job of all. I'd say you HAD a BIG career!!!!
Although I do understand the need to get something more. I'm trying to get the nerve to go back to college so I can get the great job/career!!!

I highly recommend you going back to school now while you are young. It's too late for me and I regret it daily. So as being the older Mom figure, I say yes go back to school!!!

I had a career and then left it to stay home with the kids. I was home for 10 years and just went back last year at this time. Now I do nothing along the lines of what I used to do but its a paycheque so I'm good with it. Well, I hate my boss but I like the people I work with.

What did you used to do Sarah and what do you do now? I agree a paycheck is a paycheck but I sure wish I had a career so my paycheck would be bigger, LOL.

It depends on the party.......CEC is enough without gift bags......now that we do more at home parties.........the girls, especially Anna, want to give the guests something...we did bags for both girls last year at their insistence! Come to think of it we did bags for Drew last year too.........this year, we did make your own pizza....and since 12 yr old boys are hard to buy for......they got to take their pizza home!

Either I'm going to go to be an Occupational therapist Assistant (at first while I was continuing school to be an OT) Or go for a degree in Special Education. I am a substitute teacher right now and I love special Ed. Especially Lifeskills and MultiHandicapped.

You can do both if you work in special ed, be an occupational therapist as those children really need OT and PT as well as lifeskills and other learning. I think my most rewarding job was when I worked in a school for special education and I was in the office but it was so nice to interact with those children and watch them grow!

Drew got to go to a Real Flight school at the Atlanta Airport & log 1 & 1/2 hr

We flew a Canadair Plane!!!.....It costs 2 million dollars to Build...But the Simulator to learn to fly it costs.....15 Million!!!!

The time we spent in the Simulator...would have cost a Pilot .....$1500....to do...

So quite a B-Day Gift......A gentleman from our church is a Captain...& an Instructor for Flight Safety......

So we got to Go .....Drew haad a Blast!!!!

Here he is in the Class room......Cking out the Instruments....

The Pilots spend 3 days here before going to the Actual Simulator!!!

Next we have a pic of the Out side of the Simulator....

Then a Pic of Drew as soon as he sat down...he was so Happy!!!!

We got to take off & land at the Atlanta Airport 4 times....Only crashed the First time!!!!

Then we went to New York & flew around Manhattan.....Flew by the Statue of liberty...Very Cool........& then Flew under!!!!...the Arizona Bridge....

Next we flew by the Empire state Building......& over Central Park......

& before we Landed we flew up the Hudson River & over the TapenZee Bridge....

If you remember I was at a Friends Mom's house back in July & it was just below the Tapen Zee Bridge...it was very cool...I could actually see their House & the Dock I was On!!!!!!

& then We landed back at Lagaurdia Airport!!!!

& last but not least .....A pic of Disneydad & Drew just before we Left!!!

Drew was in Heaven!!!!!!

as to what he bought with his Money....

He bought 2 PS2 vidio games.....a Star Wars game & a Naruto Game!!!

Then we went to Wally World ...& he got a Tee for Kicking the Football....& a Crossman Soft air Stinger Rifle......& a Bunch of Soft BB"S & a target you can play Games on......

& then he said he wanted the New Monopoly Game that is Electronic.....So we went looking & what do you Know we found it!!1

He still has a Little Money Left!!!!...He Racked up this Year Got all money....& he had $195 bucks to spend...Holy Cow....I don't spend that much on them at Christmas!@!!!

AnyWho we had fun & drew is in Hog Heaven ...In fact he is upstairs playing his Games Right Now.....

What a wonderful birthday Drew My Boo had!!! You re a great dad!!! Getting to do that similator is a an awesome experience. What a nice man in your church to let him do that. This is going to be a birthday he will remember forever. Great pics by the way, you can just see how happy and excited Drew was!! He sure raked in some cash for his birthday!! wow $195 to go spend. I wouldn't mind having that, lol. I'm really happy he had a great time and a wonderful birthday.
