Best and worst bus service

I had good experience with bus service at POR and CSR.

I had GREAT bus service at Pop.

I liked the set up at Pop with its own bus service (no sharing with other resorts) and the fact that each park had it's own line for buses instead of it being a free for all when the right bus pulled up and everyone ran up to the front (sometimes rather rudely) at the moderates.

At all the resorts I stayed at I particularly liked that none shared with another resort (though there were multiple stops around the SAME resort at POR and CSR where as Pop just has one location with separate lines for each park). I felt like I always got wherever I was going in a timely manner.

The one thing I can say about Pop is that there WILL be a long line when you leave the parks at closing...but it really does move fast. They get those buses there quickly and often double stack them so they are loading two at a time. If you need a seat as opposed to standing it's not much longer of a wait to just wait for the next bus.

Then again...I'm not an impatient person so what seems like a reasonable wait time to me may seem absolutely ridiculous to the next person. People often think they are waiting much longer than they really are when the lines are long, regardless of how quickly or efficiently they move. I see it at Disney and I see it everywhere else too...so remember that two people can experience the exact same wait in the same line and one will think it is ridiculously long while the other may think it went very fast. Such is life...

CSR usually has excellent bus service. The moderates tend to have better service than either the value resorts or the deluxe resorts.

Csr casitas ... amazing bus service. In 8 days making multi trips most days never waited more than 15 mins to or from a park and since its central all the rides were short.

I love the values, but I gotta say that the bus service to the All-Stars is the worst. There are three resorts using one bus. Especially if you are in Movies, which is the last to be picked up and dropped off. Many times the bus pulls up already full from the other two resorts, so you. And they are usually the last bus stop at the parks- they want to remind you you are staying in the cheap hotel!

And I disagree with this totally! Which just proves that while one guest has a bad experience at resort, another guest may have a great experience.

I've stayed at the All Stars 4 times. And in my experiences, each All Star has its own bus, and shares only during the middle of the day, when hardly anyone is using them.

Plus, the bus stops at the parks are not set, the do move around a bit. The stops are not set up with all deluxe stops closer to the gate, and then the moderates a bit farther out, and then the values. It is way more random than that.

As far as the boardwalk area usually having bad bus service, I found the same thing. However, it kind of balances out with being able to walk to Epcot and either walk or boat to the Disney Studios.

45 minutes is not a long wait?

Forty-five minutes is a problem since - as posted above - buses are routed/scheduled to arrive about every twenty minutes. It sounds like one of your buses had trouble.

Buses don't go back and forth between two points. The routing is calculated so each bus arrives at a destination every twenty minutes.

I actually had decent service at both Movies and CBR. I usually get going at about 7am and come back around 9pm. I think the coming back at night is the worst, but since I usually do a resort dinner, my travel includes a few buses. I have taken almost all of the resort buses and I feel they are all about the same. I really think it has a lot more to do with timing.

I call it bus karma. Some of my worst experiences occur at the deluxe resorts, YC/BC and Poly. Maybe, Disney feels the clientele staying at these resorts will drive. The problem seems to lie with the parks that require bus service, not the boats or monorails.

I think that the best bus service are the the resorts that have dedicated bus service. i.e. they don't share buses with any other resorts. It saves a TON of time and help with getting on a bus and not having it be full when it shows up at your resort. I'm not exactly sure which ones have dedicated bus service, but I know POP does. I have stayed at CR/BLT and POP and was amazed at how much better the bus service was at POP.

I totally agree .... when we used it to get back from DTD, We had to stop at the BWI, Dolphin, Swan and YC first ... it took about 25-30 mins and was very crowded .... even in the afternoon.

Have stayed at a number of resorts at various times of year and I have to say I do not really think it matters. I think it just all comes down to luck and timing. That being said I think that Disney used to do a lot better job of keeping buses running on a consistent schedule (every twenty mintues). There have been times where we have waited way longer than 20 minutes. There have also been times when we have seen three buses come for an empty Epcot line (for example) but there is a line four bus loads deep for Animal Kingdom. Disney used to have people monitor that (or at least more closely) and would reroute buses based on need/demand. I do not see them doing much of that any more--or at least it is not as noticeable.
