Best and Cheapest Place To Book

Hi there,

We are looking to go to DLP next year over the 1st April weekend. I just wanted ask if anybody had any recommendations of good places to book through. Obviously I have looked at the Disney prices but I just wondered if anybody knew of anywhere better and/or cheaper?

Hi Stephen
unlike WDW you will not find any secret way to get reduction on prices.
Non-Disney hotels such as Holiday Inn and seperate passports/annual passes are often the cheaper way.
How are you intending to travel - Eurostar, ferry, air ?

We are going to be there at exactly the same time
and as far as I know Reid is right, you really can't get DLRP cheaper than booking with them direct......................however we book with the COOP - travelcare- and although they quote the same price as Disney, we then get all our dividend points on the holiday which can actually add up to a lot!

Just a thought!

Really I would recommend you travel on 31st March - the day before, unless its all sold out its a lot cheaper than 1st April. Going the day before knocked several hundred off our holiday - but there are 7 of us!!!

I booked my package through Leisure Direction and got a great price, far better than from a travel agents. Whether it was cheaper than direct with Disney though, I don't know.

Thanks for your replies. I should have been a bit more forthcoming with my plans

We indeed planning to travel on the 31st as I saw that arriving on the Friday means that you are in the cheaper price band. We are going out there to celebrate my Mother's 60th birthday so it's better that way, otherwise we'd be travelling on her birthday. We are also planning to get there by Eurostar as we have gone that way before and found it to be amazingly convienient.

So far the best way I have found to save money is to not book the Eurostar through Disney. I did some calculations and found that on average Disney charges you an extra £144 per person when you choose their Eurostar package as opposed to the Classic one. I have found that by booking direct with Eurostar I can get tickets for £85 per person return which is a big saving especially when you consider that there are 6 of us going.

I also see Disney say that if you book a trip for this period by the 31st of October then they give you a discount. Anybody know what this is?

Have you thought about travelling by coach?

I booked today and it's about half the price of flying.

It takes longer to get there, but it's really convenient.

I have to say, the thought of 18 hours on a coach from my house to DLP with two children is pretty far from fun in my book

Though I think it's marvellous if it suits, particularly for those folks in the South East of the UK.

Once went to France on a coach before troops were even though of. Notice I said once. Glad it suits others but I'm with you Karen with kids I don't even want to imagine

Agree with you Karen and Reid. I went to Austria by coach for a week many many years ago, and ended up with a really bad migraineafter each coach journey. Hence coach travel is the very very last choice for me.
However I do agree that it works out very well for some people.
We found the Eurostar definitely the most convenient way to travel for us. Even though we can now fly from Bournemouth for less, the planes fly into Orly not CDG and the return flight is at an ungodly hour.

Me and my best friend went to DLP for two days last December on a coach... and we live in Yorkshire! it took FOREVER... and we said we'd never do it again... buuuuuuuuuut... i just booked yesterday for two days in December again, with the same coach company and it's costing us £180 each, staying @ Santa Fe...

It would've been £250 to fly, and the only flights to CDG from our local airport are in the middle of the day so we'd loose time in the parks....

We had the problem, which is why we had to book a coach trip.

We had the option of relatively cheap flights, but would have to leave half way through the second day, or we could buy incredibly expensive flights (£774 for 2 nights for 2 people!) and actually use our second day.

In the end, the coach tour was the best option (it's a really nice coach, too) and we have more money to spend in DLP.

Can't blame the people who don't want to do it this way, though. It must be a nightmare if you have restless kids.

I booked with Siesta Travel.

It cost us £390 for 2 people for 4 days, 3 nights, including insurance.

That was an amazing deal. I can't wait!

it's £402 for the same deal! we get picked up from literally down the road too! (lol.. outside Harry Ramsdens... lol....)

where are siesta based? for some reason.. i can imagine their shop front but can't think where i've seen it...

I was on my way to book with Gold Crest at another shop when my Mum suggested Siesta. I couldn't believe the quote, because it was so cheap compared to everyone else!
