Best All-You-Can-Eat Lobster?

I have never been to an all-you-can-eat lobster restaurant and I might want to check it out. I love lobster, even steam table lobster. When I am in Maine I try to have 3 lobsters a day (do-able if you can find a place that serves it for breakfast).

I think the Boston Seafood House(?) is the chain I have heard the most about. Does anyone have any recommendations? Unofficial guide reports on a few other lobster places but doesn't mention Boston Seafood.

I'll be staying at Coronado Springs for most of my visit, but might be on RT-192 for 1-2 nights.

Thanks, Portie

Maine lobster here is pricey when fresh and not always fresh.

While visiting Florida, why not try out the more local seafood, like Gulf or Pink shrimp or even grouper (if in a place that sells local grouper).

I have been here for almost 2 years after moving from New Hampshire, I refuse to go to one of these buffets.

Would you go to a Maryland Crab Cake buffet in Kissimmee?

Personally, I did this once. Can't remember the name of the place. (Angels?) I hated the Lobster. It was WAY over steamed and mushy! Plus it's not always Maine Lobster, its Florida rock lobsters. Smaller and not as good.

I know that the lobster may be lousy but I still want to check out one of these places.

I have done a Maryland crab buffet and it was bad. But it could have been done well. I've also had a McLobster Roll, so I can handle a certain amount of *******ization of my seafood.

I think you are talking about Boston Lobster Fest. www.bostonlobsterfeast.com Its your average buffet meal. No, its not the best seafood you will ever eat, but its really not as bad as people make it out to be. We were there last week and it really is a fun place to take the kids. Mine are 9 and 14 and they always have a great time.

I say expect the worst and go for it. But I figured I'd warn you. Most restaurants in Maine and New Hampshire don't know how to properly cook lobster, you can't expect the ones in Floirda to.

And I agree, don't let them fool you with a "lobster tail". Chances are, it did not come from the Gulf of Maine... Probably the Gulf of Mexico.

BEST - ALL YOU CAN EAT - LOBSTER just should never be in the same sentence together, there is just no such thing. Florida lobster is way different than Maine lobster and not nearly as tasty!

Yeah, having lived within minutes of the boat docks and eaten at places where you see your dinner come off the boat, I just can't bring myself to considering Maine lobster in Florida.

There is plenty of fresh local seafood here in Florida. And when it is fresh and done right, it is amazing.

Lobster is not cheap and not to be done all you can eat in Florida!!!!!!

I go to South Carolina I will have all you can eat Crab Legs and it is fine. Went to a Hilton Head Marriott or Hilton for a Seafood dinner buffet but it was expensive and was good.

Go to Maine or East Coast Canada and US and eat a lobster dinner.

There may be an expensive Hotel that does a Seafood buffet, but don't bother with a chain.

Question is why would you in Florida, especially Orlando?

I went to the Boston Lobster Feast by the Florida Mall. It was much better than I expected! I took it easy and only had one lobster but it was fine and most of the other food was good too. No after meal illness either.

My DH had been dying to try one of these buffets for years. So, I gave in, and we tried Angel's. We went early. It was PACKED by the time we left. The food was on par with a Ponderosa and the atmosphere wasn't my cup of tea. Never again. I love seafood and this food was mediocre at best. Gives me shivers just thinking about it.

Another vote for Boston Lobster Feast.

They're clean, the food is good and there's a nice selection. If you get there early enough it's $5 cheaper per person. Their bisque is very nice for the deal you get.

Haven't been to the others but I know that this place is nice, we've been twice.

Anyone that lived in the Central Mass area @ 20 years ago would remember JT's Steak house in Sudbury. All the steak and MAINE lobster (cooked right) you can eat for $14.95. Not since those days I have seen anything beyond "Lobsterfest" (YUK) quality served on a buffet.

Sorry, off topic, but whenever I hear all-you-can-eat lobster, it brings back memories.

We had those at a McDonalds in maine too! Couldn't believe they served lobster there. They weren't too bad for the money either. :)

I still intend to post a big dining review for my trip but at Boston Lobster Feast the item I liked best was the Key Lime Pie. It was really good and I could use a piece right now. The salmon had a dill sauce that was really good too. Service was also excellent there.

How long is Stone Crab season? Have had that before and it yummy! Hope they can still be hunted at the end of January when we are there!

October 15th through May 15th. strap on a mask and hunt your own if you're up for it. :)

Any recomendations on resturants for Stone Crab? Had Stone Crab claws at Fulton's and they were to die for!
