we are coming from canada and I have been checking out prices they all are the same and I have heard good and bad about all of them for delays ect
so I figured with 9 hours of flying time I would look at the entertainment
our only options are
Delta
United
US airways
Continental
Northwest

we normally frly westjet or aircanada and they have free on demand in the seat backs but they are both about $500 more then the US carriers
I looked at some of the airlines websites and some of them had that but there was no mention if there was a fee if so how much
Thanks

Most of the US Domestic carriers do not offer on board entertainment, with the exception of Jet Blue. There are a few jets that will have TVs in the seat backs or ever few rows, but most do not.

If you're unsure if a plane will have entertainment options, look up a plane type (ie. NW/Delta A319) on Seatguru. It is fairly accurate to what exists on each type of plane (most commonly).

Delta has started rolling out WiFi on the planes, but there is a cost.

This is true for US domestic carriers flying domestically, but they often have seat back entertainment on international flights.

As stated already, you can go to seatguru.com and check the airline and plane you will be taking to see entertainment options available. For example, a United Airlines Boeing 767-300 (International) offers video at each seat.

Canada often shares similar planes with US Domestic, usually just longer haul international flights carry the full video.
