Was wondering what would be the best room options to accommodate 6 people at the AKL & BCR. Two adjoining rooms or a deluxe? Can't afford a suite. Thanks in advance.

When you say 2 adjoining rooms-what kind of room do you want?
Standard, pool view, savannah view?

I was going to recommend a 1 bedroom suite because sometimes it is cheaper than getting 2 rooms-but it depends on what type of room you are looking to book.

Are you staying at both? I would go for 2 rooms at AKL.

Yes, we plan on staying 5 nights at the AKL and 5 nights at the BCR. I would love a Savannah view. Would a 1 bedroom suite accommodate 6 people? I usually come to find out that you have to book a 2 bedroom in order to accommodate 6 people and it is very expensive. Thanks for your response.

Yes, the 1br suites at AKL can sleep 6 people. They have 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa in the parlor.

Plus, the suites are on different floors throughout the lodge. You may have a better view of the animals from a lower floor.

Also, the suites come with concierge service.

Will the sleeping arrangement work for your traveling party?

Sorry I can't be of more help with the BC. We stayed at the YC in October and loved it!

Good luck with your decision.

Thank you so much for your reply. Any idea of how much this 1 bedroom suite is going to cost me? And also, would I be able to get a good AP rate on that particular room for June?

They never offer AP rates on these types of suites. The rates are posted on Disney's website. I believe it is around $700.

You can always book 2 rooms and possibly use an AP rate for those. The AP rate for 2 rooms may be cheaper than booking the suite. It all depends on what type of room you want to book.

You can look on mousesavers.com for a history AP rates.

Good luck. :D

You may want to check with a DVC member about renting points for your stay at BC - you'd actually be in the villas, but a 2 bedroom accommodates 8 people and has a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Renting points would be MUCH less costly than a regular reservation. Check out the DVC section on the boards - there is a board just for renting and trading points.

Hopefully there will be some discount codes for June... then 2 adjoining rooms at AKL would be the cheapest option for sure. Usually a standard view is about $129 or so.

As for BC I agree totally with Melissa! Rent some dvc points and book a two bedroom villa. It will be less money than two adjoining rooms. :)
