Hi..
Which one would you recommend between:
Treehouse SSR
2 BR at BLT
2 BR at AKL
3 BR at OKW
2 studios at PVR

We are 6 adults and 2 kids (5yrs)

Thanks

It would depend on which parks you would visit the most.

My first choice, if you are going to be at Magic Kingdom more than the other parks, would be Bay Lake Tower 2 Bedroom. It sleeps 9 and does have three full bathrooms and a full kitchen along with an apartment size washer and dryer and walking distance to Magic Kingdom. All the amenities are open at Contemporary Resort (Quick Service, Table Service) and the walk is really not that far from Bay Lake Tower.

I agree, it depends on your preferences but all else equal for this situation I'd do a 2 BR plus a studio. At AKV or BLT you could even get them in different view types if you wanted which might save on points if you're cutting it close. We know you have enough points to do that at OKW if not at the others if you have enough for a 3 BR at OKW. My second choice would depend on the mix of the group. If we're talking 3 couples plus 2 kids, one couple has to be comfortable sharing with the other OR doing a pullout in the LR to just do a 2 BR. For only a 2 BR for all I'd do a dedicated 2 BR. For Poly you could lose a full kitchen with 2 studios and still have the same issue of adults in the same bedroom. Assuming a 2 BR plus a studio and sufficient points, I'd say BLT since the kids are 5 y/o. My next choices aren't listed, BWV, VWL (either) or SSR for a 2BR plus a studio.

If you are all going to be in one villa, then I would pick BLT or the OKW grand villa. We travel with a party of 7, and we tried a 2 bedroom at kidani. It was just too small. We stayed in a 2 bedroom at BLT a couple of times, and that was somewhat comfortable.

Now, we get a 2 bedroom and a studio for our party of 7. It is much, much better. Everyone has their personal space and a place to relax in without anyone having to sleep on the sofa in the living area.

Book whichever one is your home resort at 11 months.

Then look at a number of factors such as proximity to the parks, sleeping space, transportation and dining options.

A GV at OKW sounds great but one of the bedrooms has 2 double beds, not queen size. They are also 2-stories which could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues.

Treehouses have 3BRs but one of those bedrooms has child-size bunks. They really are not meant for adults. The second bedroom has only one queen bed. There are two bathrooms but you have to walk through the master bedroom to get to one of them. The treehouses are also very remote and rustic. You feel as if you’re in a cabin in the woods. On the plus side, they’re very private (no one above, below or right next to you) and you have a lovely deck to relax on.

The 2BRs at AKV Kidani and BLT have 3 full bathrooms, which is a huge plus for a group with 6 adults. Dedicated 2BR villas will have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom, instead of a queen + a sleeper sofa. Every adult can have a real bed if they don’t mind sharing a bedroom.

Of all of your choices, 2 studios at PVB would be my absolute last choice. Not because I dislike the resort but because the sleeping arrangements strike me as uncomfortable for 6 adults and 2 children. There’s no privacy for anyone and it will be bodies everywhere at night - two adults on each of the queen beds, one adult on each of the pullout sofas and a kid on each of the pull down twin beds. It reminds me of dormitory life.

Are you sure it wasn't Jambo. The 2 BR at Kidani are just slightly larger than BLT with the third bath.

From your selected list, I’d go with the OKW 3 bedroom. Plenty of space to spread out and not feel cramped. You have the two stories with so much more square footage. A perfect open kitchen, dining, & family area to get together for in villa meals, along with a nice patio as well.

If you go with anything but the GV at OKW, you are going to have adults sleeping in convertible beds. The kids would get the third bedroom at THV since the bunks are small. So, again, two adults in the living room. THV only has two bathrooms and no king bed.

Or you have four adults sharing a single bedroom. It all depend on how close the six adults are. If the kids belong to one family, get three studios or get the GV at OKW. One of the bedrooms at OKW GV only has two double beds instead of two queen beds.

Nope it was kidani. Too small for that many people, even with the 3rd bathroom! We have stayed at kidani several more times. We get a 2 bedroom for our family of 4!

Well the 2 BR at Kidani are just slightly larger than BLT, maybe it was the layout.

Have you always gotten an "outer room" at BLT? Ie one that does not face inwards towards the courtyard and pool? Because of the shape of the building it has a larger living area, a laundry closet and a bit shaved off the bedrooms. The ones that face the courtyard have a laundry room and less room in the living areas. I'd guess that for you to feel Kidani was smaller you must have gotten an outer facing BLT. The inner facing probably would have felt smaller than Kidani. Overall Kidani is larger but the shapes of the room and layout changes the feel.

I think it's more to do with the furnishings and layout at BLT vs. Kidani. Kidani has bulky furniture, dark colours, a different layout. BLT is furnished in a way that's more minimalist, brighter, and makes the space "seem" bigger. The use of sliding / pocket doors and more storage also gives you a lot more usable space.

There's also quite a difference between the even and odd numbered rooms though. We've always stayed in an even number but toured an odd numbered room and it was quite the difference.

OKW GV has 4 bathrooms,
Our grand daughter loved her "private bath room" on the main floor.

How did you make the room request? Thanks
