I am looking to plan a join vacation with some friends of ours for next year. We would like to get a 2 bedroom villa (using points) and would like to know which resort provides the best 2 bedroom villa.

There will be 6 of us going: 4 adults and 2 kids ages will be 3 and 6.

I will be renting points so a home resort is not a "issue"

Thank you for your thoughts

The largest 2br villa (by far) is at Old Key West. Over 1200 square feet. And another plus for OKW is the larger balconies. The balconies @ OKW are much more private also...if that appeals to you. Another plus for OKW is It has a lower point structure, so you would spend less $$$.

I guess I would choose Old Key West:thumbsup2 .

Well, OKW has the largest units, it also requires the least amount of points. The rest of the DVC resorts are pretty equal as far as room size; there are value villas at AKV, so those would be the smallest units.

Which resort is best really depends on you. The DVC resorts are

AKV:
African theme
Decent sized food court
The onsite restaurants Boma and Jiko are raved about
Newest DVC
Dedicated buses

BCV:
Cape Cod theme
Home to SAB
No food court, but has a very small quick service
Beaches and Cream
Walking distance to Epcot and DHS
Also has a boat to Epcot and DHS
Bus system leaves a lot to be desired

BWV:
Atlantic City theme
No food court
Same transportation options as BCV
Has a very nice pool with a huge slide

OKW:
Huge rooms
Small CS
Boat service to DtD
Dedicated buses
Has separate buildings

SSR:
Onsite spa
Still a very new resort
Has a decent sized food court
Dedicated buses
Pathway and boat to DtD

VWL:
Boat to Magic Kingdom
Shares buses
CS option

That's a very quick overview, you'll be able to find out more info on the DVC board. We've stayed at all of them except BCV (we've stayed at the YC), and we like them all for different reasons.

We have stayed at OKW, BCV and BWV. Our favorite DVC is BCV for their location. We LOVE being able to walk to the International Gateway in Epcot, our favorite resort. WE also walk to DHS and like the atmosphere of the Boardwalk. All in all, it is a great area.
The second bedroom here will have 1 queen bed and a double sleeper sofa.
The units at OKW are Significantly larger and there will be 2 Queen beds in the second bedroom. That might be an important consideration for you.
We also had a car when we stayed at OKW. We did not have a car on our many trips to the BCV. At OKW you can park right outside of your Villa which is very nice.
Good Luck in your decision

VWL has a fine restaurant for dinner in Artist Point. You can also take the boat over to CR for the Contemporary Grill and (soon) the Wave. You can also monorail from the CR to the Polynesian and GF and the great choices there.

BCV and BWV have a number of good>great restaurants as well as easy access to all of WS.

All resorts except OKW and SSR have room service.

Although it is true that SSR and OKW have "dedicated" buses, there are as many or more stops within the resorts as there are at the BC/BW area. MK buses at Y&BC usually are dedicated to those two resorts these days. AK seems to still share with all Epcot resorts.

The extra room in the OKW villas is really in the living room/kitchen area. With two different families traveling, that could be a real advantage. The living area in the other villas is pretty tight when the sleeper bed is out.

The OKW 2 bedroom is bigger than my 2 bed 2 bath apartment.
ITS HUGE!
I wish I could have that room to live in instead. (Of course I only pay 890 a month for my apartment. OKW is slightly more expensive. :rolleyes1 )

While I don't have any personal experience with the DVC, a doctor that I work with who goes 4-6 times per year swears by the OKW, its his favorite for a lot of reasons, mainly that the property is beautiful and its very quiet and peaceful.

:) OKW is our home resort and we love it. The 2 br has 2 queen beds and that is a big plus. We have stayed at some of the other DVC resorts and did not care for the sleeper sofa in the 2nd br especially when traveling with a larger group. The living room/kitchen/dining area is very spacious as is the balcony. I guess you have gotten the idea that OKW would be my choice when traveling with a group your size. Have fun!

With more adults than kids, I'd opt for the BW or SSR. Both put you close to loads of fun for grown up evenings out.

Thank you all for your suggestions! You brought up a lot of points that I didn't think about!

I'm going talk with the other family to see what are priorities should be!

I know that their first and only trip was at POP century so I don't know what type of theming they are going for. I've stayed at OKW and BWV and love them both for different reasons. I'm also going to see about location. It is so nice being close to world showcase and DHS, however the kids did not really like EPCOT except for Nemo and the Living Seas, however if we do an adults night out it would be nice to be so close to EPCOT for the drinking/entertainment factor.

Again thank you all and I'll probably be back with more questions!

Ok so I have narrowed it down to the AKV, BWV and OKW,

I am creating a chart to share with my husband and the other family so that we can make our decision!

I'm leaning toward AKV becuase we have never stayed there before and have stayed at the other 2 resorts.
