Besides theming what's the difference between All Star Resorts?

I know that the ASMO is newer than ASSP and ASMU, but, it there really any major difference beside theming?

I think theming is the major difference, with the levels of service in each being about the same.

I guess it's more just picking which one appeals to you more.

Of course you'll find people that will swear by one or the other, but on the surface, they're all pretty much the same to me.

IMO, the differences are minor.

You might want to check the bus routes. I think Sports was always picked up 1st and dropped off 1st which is a plus.

I thought Movies had the best theme'n and pools.

The food court at the Movies is much better that the other 2. The stores all carry pretty much the same, where the Sports carries alot of sport related merchandise and the others do not. The movies has a nice theater-like seating area in the waiting area.

I've stayed at ASMusic and ASSports and I found that the way they're laid out to be an important difference. ASMusic is much more "alley-like" than the other 2 (if you look at a map of the resorts, you'll see what I mean). The walk from some of the buildings can be very far. However, at ASSports, all the buildings seemed closer to the Main Building. For that reason, I'd definitely choose Sports or Movies over Music.

We've stayed at all three and the only major difference is theming. They are layed out differently and while ASMu is long with the buildings arranged straight back from Symphony hall I don't think that the walk is really that much different. If sports are your thing then pick sports. I like the quiet baseball pool. It is really cute with the pool shaped as a diamond and bleachers and stadium lights in top if the buildings. Movies of course has giant characters and Andy's room is great for Toy Story fans. My favorite is Music because the theming, while still over the top, seems a little more adult. I like the fountain and courtyard between the Jazz buildings.
