Besides the Parks: What other activities "float your boat" at WDW

We enjoy the mini golf, boat rentals, water parks and Disney Quest. We really enjoyed parasailing at CR. Oh - and paying homage to our bricks/pavers (we have two).

Oh yeah!! How could I have forgotten to mention the pilgrimage to our brick! Ours is in the TTC just under the Epcot monorail. Before DVC we were huge Poly addicts, so the brick was just a short walk away and so we "visited" all the time. Now that we're BWV-ers we just make it a point to stop by when we're changing monorails at the TTC.

If I bring guests I make it a point to take a picture of them with our brick. (To add to the 6 bazillion other pictures I have of me and my kids and the brick, LOL). I'm so neurotic about my "piece" of WDW that I've been known to bring a washcloth to clean it more than once. Last trip I packed a single edge razor blade because there was some gum on it that I had seen on my 2 previous trips. (But when I went to scrape it off it had been cleaned already, much to my delight). My kids think I'm nuts. Well they may have a point there...

I'm also an Off-Kilter fan, and would gladly sit through all five daily shows! I can't get enough of them!!!

Other activities we've enjoyed - mini-golf, a behind the scenes tour, visiting resorts we've never stayed at, eating, shopping, people watching, renting a boat, spending some time in the rose gardens at MK or Epcot. Sometime we just ride the monorail around for awhile.

Every trip, we have to touch our picture tile at the entrance to Epcot. And we try to take very form of transportation sometime during the trip (car, bus, monorail, train, and boat) Sadly, since we don't drive to the parks anymore, don't get to ride the trams ;-(

Whoa..... Why not ! You don't need a car to ride the trams. Matter of fact it's more fun when you don't. You get a complete round trip.

So interesting to read what everyone likes to do while at WDW. Very diverse. (I must admit, though, at times I don't have a clue what people are talking about due to the abbreviations. ) Am definitely going to look into a few of the things people mention.

My wife and I are classic movie buffs, so we ALWAYS give ourselves a "date" at the Brown Derby, where we can enjoy the original Cobb Salad and explore the wonderful caricatures of Hollywood stars on the walls.

Well, having always been a "Park Commando", the concept of "lounging" by the pool never entered my mind......

Until this past trip with DH. He actually showed me that being a DVC Member means you don't have to run through the parks as if they were being demolished the next day!

So now we dream of lazy days at the pool sipping Roller Coaster Meltdowns, and stolling into Epcot later on in the afternoons....

Cirque du Soliel's "La Nouba" is absolutely amazing. I've seen "O" at the Bellagio in Vegas, but I think La Nouba is at least as good. Cirque is a must if you've never been, and something I will go to every couple of years even though the show won't change much.

We also enjoy the good dining -- especially at Epcot. There is no shortage of very good restaurants at WDW, but our favorite (by a wide margin) is Le Cellier at Canada.

Tried Fulton's Crab House (?) at DD and we were underwhelmed. The food was good, but I thought it was somewhat overpriced. They charge more for stone crabs than Joe's does...and they're definitely NOT Joe's.

I think I know what those Roller Coaster Meltdowns are. I couldn't remember the name of that drink until you mentioned it. Aren't they the first thing on the list at Boardwalk's Pool Bar? If so, I remember the CM told me they're bought twice as often as all the other drinks combined. Excellent, but rather powerful for me!

We always play 2 or 3 rounds of golf. This year trying a non-Disney course too. Much more fun now that DD is on high school golf team and plays with us.

We really enjoy going to the BellVue room at the Boardwalk after Illuminations. We like listening to the old radio shows, playing board games and eavesdropping on the tipsy CM's. Last December a few CM's were loudly complaining about the addition to the Illuminations fireworks and how Disney had "gone to far this time.

DD loves to go on the nightly wagon ride at Fort Wilderness. If you take the late one on a night MK has fireworks, the wagon will stop by the lake to watch. They even connect in to the sound system so you can hear the music. On the way back the wagon will stop over this culvert and turn out all the lights on the wagon. You can hear the gators chirping below.

EATING!!!! sorry for yelling. i am a person who totally enjoys a good meal. each trip the first thing we do after securing a room is figure out where we are going to eat. this leads to second favorite thing to do is walking. i really enjoy a nice leisurely walk around anywere in WDW to get the meal moving.

we also enjoy shopping. my DW always finds it a bit funny that i like to shop. this makes her happy because i am not hurrying her alog to finish up. sometimes its the other way around.

i honesty enjoy doing everything that WDW has to offer and also i enjoy sometiimes just floating my boat in the resort pool

one other is taking pictures. since we bought a new digital camera i have become quite good at taking pictures. last trip i took almost 1100 pictures. thank God for large memory cards

Well we always play miniature golf at winter/summer course near blizzard beach.( family tradition )We also will not miss the waterparks or disney quest.But if we have some free time we go to the club house near the quiet pool at BWV.

Yep! That's them!! A Pina Colada with a shot of Meyers Rum floating on top!! Just don't sit in the sun while you drink them!!
