Besides here, where did you look for cake inspiration?

Does anyone have any good links for cake inspiration. I already use the awesome pics posted on the cake link here..and google images...but I can't find much that really impresses me enough to copy it exactly!

So far, we are just thinking a spin on the mad hatter, but we are also considering something a bit more retro...ie. shades of blues, black, red, white...just for the designs...no records or old cars or anything! Anyone have any great links?

We really want something great..but we don't have the ideal cake in our heads yet!

Well, I looked at www.pinkcakebox.com a lot and combed thru the Knot's entire cake database , but the very best resource has to be www.flickr.com.

Just now I typed "retro cake" in the search box and came up with 3,910 results—you could narrow it by adding colors, or you could go in a totally different direction with other search terms.

For our Christmas cake at California Grill, we used Photoshop to combine elements from multiple cakes on Flickr and sent Disney an image, which they copied exactly.

My cake inspiration came from a bridal magazine. I just modified it to make it Disney.
