Bernina 440QE anyone have one? I need help.

I just inherited my cousin's Bernina 440 Qe embrodiery sewing machine.

I have the machine, attachments, software loaded on a laptop.
I wanted to try it out today and it won't turn on!
I plugged it in, flipped the switch and nothing happened. The only bernina dealer near here is not open now and has limited hours.
Does it need to be connected to the laptop to turn on? I jsut wanted to sew a simple project to get used to it.
Can anyone help??

I don't have the same machine as you do, but go over to the disboutique thread in the Disney for Families forum and repost your question. There are many people there who have embroidery machines and someone may be able to help.
