Lorraine, I'm so sorry. What a disaster! Are all pool guys related to roof guys? Sounds like they either don't show up or they are a pain. I agree with the tv station idea. Sometimes another business will even step forward to take on the job for the good publicity. It might be worth a try.

We are packing DS for Scout camp today. Going to take a break and go see Nemo this afternoon. I just don't want to wait until he's back home to go see it. :smooth: We bought his "new" car yesterday. He'll have a bright red Honda Civic. It is a '97 with about 46K miles on it. We'll pick it up next week when we have the rest of the money together. I teased him that I'd be breaking it in. He goes to get his license the end of June.

The sun is shining here. Just hope it isn't as hot as yesterday. It got up to 103! That's pretty hot for May in Oklahoma. Gotta run.

Thanks for the suggestion of the TV station. I have a feeling if everyone stepped forward with this company they could end up doing a mini-series. I know of 4 people that are fed up w/ this company. We should never have gone there in the first place.
Maybe this would be a good time to go buy a new car instead.

MerryPoppins - the car for your son sounds nice. i wish i could have gotten one at an early age. we had about 4 of us fighting for 1 car when LK and I were still at home.

Sink update - Mr Plumber was supposed to be here between 7 an 8. Called at 8, had an emergency leak, on his way. Showed up after 9, is still here! The sink is in the hole, he is working on the connections now. It isn't that he is slow, he is doing a really good job. He should be, it is costing $345.00 to installit all.

Lorraine, make sure you have a good paper trail of what happened. Our pool builder went bankrupt in the year following our build. They took a lot of peoples money with them. It was ugly. I hope you paid with a CC, you can aslo get the CC issuer to charge them back. GO for it, be calm, accept nothong less than a full refund, and make sure they understand you will make their business life miserable until you get satisfaction.

We told him that it's not HIS car. It's our car that he can drive if he asks for permission. LOL! I don't think he needs his own car until he's out of high school. We'll probably give it to him at that point or pass it down to his sister. We timed them about right. She starts to drive the spring after he is out of high school. That way if he gets a new car, she can move into this one. So no fighting, at least over the car. ;)

Lorraine, so sorry about the pool but I am glad you stuck up for what is right. I hope you can get your money back without too much trouble.

Merry, don't let my kids find out about your car. DH and I are looking for a third car here. DD got her license in December. DS will turn 16 the fall when DD leaves for college. If we can find a good used car, it can be handed down. It would be nice to have one.

Went to DS's soccer game. They won 13-1. DS, who usually plays defense, scored a goal. YAY!!

I just need some ideas,my anniversay of a year with dbf is in 3 months and I'm planning ahead on the gift

Satine, how about a new palm pilot type device? Already programmed with all your info, so he has no I forgot excuse?

Plumber is done at last

Hmm... how to describe Ferrero Rocher...

Well... I've very sadly looked up their website and it actually has an FAQ section of which one is this:

Q: What are ROCHER® chocolates?
A: At the heart of ROCHER chocolates are a whole roasted hazelnut and creamy chocolaty filling inside a light, crispy wafer, all wrapped in milk chocolate and finely chopped hazelnuts.

Here's a piccy:

They are gorgeous... well renowned (in the UK definitely, not sure in the US) for being advertised with the cheesiest advert *ever* tho' sadly it is not on any more....

You really have to try one :) You know you want to!

Cya,
Gaspode

Mmmmmm, they look and sound delicious! Thanks for posting a picture and description. I'll have to keep my eyes open for them around here...

OK, that was why I said type, I know that there are some out there that are less than 100 bucks, but they don't do a lot. SO give me some idea of what he is like, and a price range. I can come up with lots of somethings, or I'll go out looking. Besides, I still need a pair of cabana pants for a cover up at the AKL.

Laura, we have Ferrero Rocher all over here, at the drug stores, in the grocery. If you can't find 'em, let me know, Angel Express delivers!

spb, I love liquid plumber, but after a wile, you just gotta get the real thing. At least his pants did NOT come from the gap!

Gaspode, did DBF return yet with the gift? I'm thinking he was nice and bought you either a new motor scooter or a Mini Cooper.

I wish Marsha!
He's back home but no gift... but I'm sure I'll get one tomorrow!! Doubt it will be a Mini but that would be fantastic! So long as it was the old style and not one of those silly new things!

Hey Melissa, if it's the new style, send it to me................. I'll take either!

Nah Marsha you don't want the new style!! They aren't Minis any more, they are 'Midis'... they are as big as any other car. Useless!
My Mum had a... wait for it... lime green mini when I was a kid! It was called Orville and fantabulous... so I couldn't have anything but an original-style... but it wouldn't necessarily have to be lime green... or would it now my second-home is the DIS? ;)
Cya,
Gaspode

You catch on quick! Second home is the DIS, for sure. DH would love a mini, he thinks I should trade my Mustang in on one. but I don't want car payments ever again.

Still you would be a pal to bring me one over when you visit!

Hmmm... a Mustang eh? That's my DBF's dream car... I'm sure he'd happily bring you a Mini if you would swap him! Although it has to be a convertible type from 66/67 (I think!)....

This is my personal dream car. In the words of Wayne, "It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine..."

My Mustang is a plain old 1998, 5 speed, silver. But it is mine, all mine! Is that a Suzuki? When you guys come over, who gets to drive? How is it adjusting to driving on the wrong side? Of course I am jealous that you will be visiting the Mouse while I am probably working. We will have to time a visit where we can all meet up someday in person. Oh, you will have to send us a post card form Inoventions, too.
