Back to HP.......#3 is my favorite, although my favorite character (so far) is Gilderoy Lockhart. I truly loved Kenneth Branaugh's (sp?) interpretation of the character. #4 is a bit disturbing, even reading it a second time.

Yeah I know what you mean on both those points:

KBranaughs (think thats the spelling!) interpretation of GL was perfect (even tho' generally I really don't like him as an actor!) and #4 is disturbing... my thought is that JKR realised she was appealing to adults and so by this book she put in plenty for them... too dark for kids of a very young age methinks, and am worried about the film!

BTW my favourite character is Ron! Bless him!

Hi Angels...welcome Gaspode...just a quick check in from New Hampshire.....

Hmmm....let's go with the short version:

One DS sick (fever, tummy ache, headache), I'm either getting the same thing, or sympathy pains , my parents came over for dinner, they signed on their new house tonight, only a couple of miles away (WOOOHOOO)...plan to be moved in by September 30! I'm wiped out from a long baseball week. Neil leaves for OWL training in the morning, which will leave me with two games to cover on my own, fortunately they are at the same field...of course that is contingent upon Patrick feeling better.
My typing fingers aren't working well tonight...gonna call it an early night.


Oh yeah...Booked my flight today to WDW in August...I can't believe I'm really going on a Girl's Only trip....

Draco - there's another actor who fills the role perfectly, and he's getting handsome as he gets older. And while I'm on the subject.....Lucius Malfoy is quite pleasing to look at!!!

Do you guys get the sitcom 'My Family' by any chance? It has Madame Hooch (Zoe Wanamaker (sp?)) as the mum and is fantastically funny...
And now I guess I'll head to bed tho' I'm still not tired! (Will be in the morning tho if I don't!)

HI gang.

Just back from the mall with DH and DS. DD and her BF went to see the Matrix Reloaded. She won't be 17 for 2 weeks but I assume she got in ok.

My 2 love the Harry Potter books. I tried but just couldn't get into them. If it comes out June 21, we won't have to be in a rush because both kids leave for camp that weekend.

Soccer was cancelled today. Now have to wait to see if tomorrow's games are cancelled. Wish they could let us know a little ahead of time. The 2 games tomorrow overlap and are about 25 minutes apart. DD could drive herself but we don't have a spare car.

Glad to have another chatter but these youngsters make me feel old.

I think it's great.....we come from different places.....different families.....different ages......and we have lots of fun together!!!

Wow! Took me a while to catch up here tonight.

Welcome Gaspode! My MIL lives in the UK. She's in Lancashire.

We're big HP fans in this house too. We have multiple copies of each book in hard cover and paperback. DD took them all to camp with her last year to read with the campers. I think my favorite character has got to be Ron.

Our whole family is into HP. I'm the only one who hasn't read all the books. I do enjoy the movies, though. We have a copy of #5 reserved and DD has already claimed the first read. LOL!

I need to fix ice cream for my family. They have been waiting patiently. Also need to do the dishes and head to bed. DS has his physical for the school swim team tomorrow morning. I just hate it when I have to get up early on Saturday. Sigh.

OWL Training is: Outdoor Webelos Leader Training. Techinically they call it WLOT now (Webelos Leader Oudoor Training) but we still refer to it as OWL.
DH is the district training chair, so he'll be there for the full run of the course tomorrow into Sunday. I think this will be his last training event though, as we/he just doesn't have the time to commit to it.

Nothing like a gloomy day.....again.....to make my weekend! LOL!

Welcome, Gaspode! We're fun, a bit wacky....but totally (sort of) harmless!

I've read all the HPs at least twice....some three times. I love fantasy so it's fun summer reading for me!


Swim meet late today. Dinner out (sushi.....yay!).

I need to look over alot of roofs and siding books today. We're going for it.....complete exterior remodelling.....and it ain't cheap......mucho moola......

Don't think I'm going to Disney any time soon......

Good News: The Journal is packed up and ready to head out to Courtesan Satine....she'll let you know when she gets it and then you can pm her for dibs on it next! So far the journal entries are:

Patrick seems to have recovered well enough. The sun is out, and my lawn needs to be mowed....life is good!!!!
