DW and I are taking the kids to Toys R Us to buy a gift for a birthday party my oldest is going to tonight.
After that we will go home and have another debate (very polite, though) on private vs public schools and probably watch an episode of Next Gen or two before going to sleep.
I love it!!!
BTW, the thing that really turned my wife off on the schools in the area we visited was the fact we were shown around by the school conselor.
He told us about the small groups and individual children he meets with on a regular basis for "college bound", divorce care, and first grade self esteem.
When we discovered that all the schools in that system use counselors who meet with classes on regular a regular basis, we became uncomfortable.
My thought is that they are elementary aged kids...leave them alone unless they are having some sort of difficulty and the parents and teachers decide together that they should speak to a counselor. Unless, of course, the teacher has good reason to believe the child is being abused at home, but they had better have a clear case!
Have a great weekend everyone!

yet many of her friends have had them for some time. I didn't get me ears pierced until I was 13 and even that was with a struggle. My mom doesn't have them and was against it for the longest time. Finally an aunt convinced her to let me do it.
