just a quick hello between loads of laundry and going to bake cupcakes to take to camp with us this weekend.

Morning all!

Getting close to getting our exchange buddy name! Yippee!!!!

I'll be busy with my BIL's wedding this weekend so this will probably be my only message this weekend.

Have a great weekend angels!:)

I know what you mean Elaine!

Hope you have a great weekend and that the wedding party has sunshine!

Us klutzes have to stick together!!!
As a kid my nickname was "Grace" LOL!!

Elaine & Lorraine-I hope that everything goes well at both weddings this weekend....wouldn't it be cool if E!'s sister was marrying Lorriane's BIL?????:p :p

I'm going to the craft store today to start the earring project.

It looks like a rainy day here, so I just came up with an alternate plan if our baseball game/party gets rained out tonight. We would have enough people to play bunco! I'm always jumping at the chance to play.

I had to tape the last half hour of ER because I was too tired to watch it last night. No spoilers yet please!

Elaine and Lorraine, I hope if it has to rain tomorrow, it only rains when you are safely inside the reception! Let's hope for no rain at all though...

Morning everyone...in and out all day, am hoping to get started on the last of the indoor painting today, but honestly, I don't see it happening, too much of the regular "day to day" laundry, mopping, vaccumming, etc. to get done.

I DID however, start on the journal last night...yet another distraction....LOL

Have a great day everyone!!

Morning all... busy rainy day here, but I had to stop in and say hi. The worst part of the storm is coming so I think I want to get off since there is lightening and I am not on the best surge protector. I'll try to stop back in later :)

Good morning! Another angel checking in for the last time this weekend. I really have to go and get those cupcakes made! I was just too tired last night. I also have to finish the laundry, do some shopping and pack before we leave at 2.30 or 3.00! I certainly hope that we have no rain this weekend since it eliminates campfires and makes hiking and outdoor games less than fun!

Have a great weekend Kathy!!!

We have Euchre night tonight with a group of friends & then tomorrow we have a birthday party to attend. My friend's daughter is turning 2. Of course I got her a Belle costume.....some of you may have seen pics of it taken by Yepod at the last mall meet:D
So...I'll be around this weekend.

Good morning Angels!

It has been a stressful time at the AlabamaAlan household for the past week or so. DW and I have to make long lasting decisions about where to live.

To be frank, the public school system in our city is not good. Private school was in the plans when we were two income and one child. Now we are one income and two children! Of course, that was by choice and we knew it when we decided to do it, so I can't complain too much.

There is an excellent school system about an hour from here and we had decided to move there and I would commute each day. However, as we have visited the area we have found the older houses to be overpriced and the newer houses built to code and no more than that.

Also, while we were impressed with the schools, we did see enough things that bothered us to prefer a private school setting if possible.

So now we are deciding whether to stay where we are and make some changes to our house to make it more accomodating or to move within our city to a slightly nicer neighborhood (mainly to avoid the very busy road we live on - my girls will never learn to ride a bike out here!) and still try for private school.

We can budget it, but it is going to be tight.

Good morning!
Good alternate plan LK.....weather doesn't look too good for a game tonight. :(
Looks like a busy one for me here.....I'll try to check in later!

Alan, sounds like some tough choices you have to make.:( I hope everything works out the best for you and your family. What ages are your daughters? I'm thinking back to your fireplace and ashes incident, and I thought they were around 5 and 3.

Gail, I have been watching the forecast every hour on the internet. Right now, it looks as though the rain is supposed to end by mid-afternoon, so now it looks as if the game/party is back on.

My girls are 5 and 3 - good memory. My oldest is in K4 and if we were going to move anyway, we wanted to be in Auburn for her to start K5. They have an outstanding Kindergarten there.

As for the private school, there is an easier chance for your 1st grader to be accepted if she attended Kindergarten. Not that is an elite school; it's just small and there are only so many slots.

Also, IF we are going to move at all, it is probably best to do all this before interest rates start rising again.

Good luck Alan!!!! You do have lots to think about and you're taking the time to make very importan decisions.

I just got home and it's nice here this afternoon....hope the weather clears so you can go to the game tonight Laura. I'm heading out to do some yard stuff and we're cooking on the grill tonight!!:bounce: :bounce:

I also picked up another item for my gift box......I'm getting excited!

I'm sure that you'll make the right decision Alan. DH & I moved to our town based on the school system & we've been very happy here. I will say that in my experience as a parent of school aged children (14, 14 & 7) that sometimes it doesn't matter how great the school system is if your child doesn't respond well to his/her teacher. I have been very fortunate that so far, my kids have done well with their teachers but I've got friends who's kids just didn't do well with the teaching style of the classrooms they were put into. I truly believe that it's the quality of teachers that your child gets that make the difference.

I am getting really excited to see who my exchange person is....:p

Checking in for the evening........who else is staying home tonight?

I know LK has Logan's party - hopefully at a baseball game and not in her house and Lorraine iand Elaine are into the final hours before a wedding.
