My SIL's birthday is today so I guess I better start shopping since my DH hasn't gotten anything for her. She is watching the kids for us on Saturday night (plus keeping them overnight) so my DH and I can finally go out somewhere.

Anyone can come out there to the heat. I will be in the pool for the first time this year tomorrow. SInce it has been in the 100 plus all week, the water is heating up nicely. We don't go barefoot in the rocks, that's for sure, and the concrete heats up so much it burns your feet. We have a "cool deck" around the pool, but you have to step on the sidewalk a couple of steps to get to the deck, so flip flops are a must.

Nemo was very good, if you get a chance to see it next week, take the kids! It opens on the 30th, I did the free sneak preview curtesy of the Disny Club.

I get to see Stephanie, and LK and SB, I will be there from 8/9 till 8/20. Steph is I hope staying at AKL, where are the twins staying? I know not together the whole time, but geez, I gotta meet you all in person at least once.

Well, I only had to read 8 pages to catch up with all of you today!

Congrats on 1000 posts Alan!!!! We're glad that so many of them have been here with us!

I hope that EB is feeling better today. My DD hasn't been feeling well for a few days either. She stayed home from school on Wednesday, but she toughed it out yesterday and has gone again today, although I sent a note asking that she be excused from track and field practice. It's not her thing even when she's feeling great!

Marsha, I'd like to join you for a swim, but you'd have to pick me up with a sponge if the temp is over 100º! I don't do well in heat. That's why I don't do WDW in the summer either. Many years ago, my family drove to California in the summer. I remember crossing the desert. It was so hot the night before we started across that we went for a swim in Catherine Resevoir (I think that was the name) before bed, and slept in wet bathing suits. Our car was air conditioned, but the other car we were travelling with wasn't. They put buckets of ice in front of the floor vents to try and cool the car off.

Baboo - we are going to WDW in August. Heat sounds good now, but I'm sure it will be rather sticky then. We are planning on doing both water parks anyway, so hopefully we will be okay. This is an unexpected trip - we couldn't pass up the $20.03 rate at the Downtown Disney Marriott. Marsha - that should answer your question about where Lorraine and I (and families) will be staying. We check in on Sunday the 17th and check out a few days after you leave. It's too early to plan now, but I think that Sunday might be a good day for us to meet!

I jumped in the shower this morning about 8:45, knowing that the window repairman was due here at 10, and Logan's teacher was going to call me at some point. Doesn't it figure - I get out of the shower, the teacher has left a message already and the repairman is sitting in my driveway at 9:15! I must look lovely with my hair waiting to be dried. I thought his teacher would call later in the day. I never expected a call first thing when they got to school....
