Bermuda shorts

I have never been a fan of bermuda shorts, I think that generally they make women look short/shorter.

That Old Navy commercial gives me nightmares.

I don't wear shorts. Ever. I have not owned a pair of shorts of any variety since I was 19 years old (almost 10 years ago). I wear jeans even in the heat of summer.

I think you're right. These make short women look even shorter.

absolutely will not buy them. I'm 5'2" and those things will make me look shorter than I already am plus it'll look like I have thunder thighs!

I wear the skorts type of shorts......a little more legs and I am of the shorter side too.......but heck I dont' care......I like to be cool in the summer too....unless we can get our jeans to be air conditioned I would be a happy camper too

Being just over 5', there is no way you will find me in those shorts. Anything cropped or all capris make me look positively rediculous. I have a hard time finding most shorts though... they are either way too short or way too long. I own only 2 pairs that I like length wise. I've become a huge fan of skirts because of that

i don't like shorts, but i d like bermuda shorts/capris/pedal pushers/etc. i'm 5'10" and very long legged though. they look WAY better on me than shorts do.

I'm 5'9"...and while I love capris/knickers (shorter then capris - closer the knee)...bermudas do me no justice. You need a really slim thigh/knee/calf to have this look good (IMO)

and well, it just doesn't work on me. heheh

I just got rid of my long shorts left over from the LAST time they were in style! I like my short-shorts. However, I will say that they will make it easier for my girls to wear shorts to school. The dress code rule is that shorts need to be as long as your fingertips. Since short shorts have been in style they've only been able to wear capris to school.

it sounds like my conception of bermuda shorts is the same as what you call knickers. i only like the bermuds shorts that come right to the knee or slightly over the knee (browse around at the nordstrom link to see what i mean).

hehe - everyone has their own conception! here's mine in gap-speak

knickers - just below the knee: (these are quite cute actually)

bermudas - just above the knee

those 3-4 inches make a big difference on my leg! heheheh

in terms of gap speak - i agree. bermuda shorts would look hideous on me! i have a couple of whatever you want to call them's that come just below the knee and it's one of my fav lengths.

Except for NMAmy, I don't think these look good on anyone except the 3 models in the Old Navy ads.

My 12 y.o. DD tried them on and we couldn't stop laughing - they were all wrong for her and she doesn't even have any curves yet!

I'd wear them. I'm tall, so making me look short would be a good thing. lol. Actually, I personally love capris. I discovered them last year and now I'm hooked. I hate wearing shorts, so capris are just perfect for the summer.

I hated it when I was a kid and a teenager--they called me Olive Oyl. But, as I pointed out to 14 yo dd when she was complaining about her skinny legs--at 41, I'm one of the few moms that actually still wears shorts. I told her she'd like 'em better when she was older.

Does anyone else ever notice on that Old Navy Bermuda Shorts ad (the one with the "Fame" theme song") that the primary model's pockets "pooch" WAY out!!

And she's very slender!

That's the very place that I DON'T want fabric sticking out! I told my husband that I wouldn't buy them for that reason alone. If the pockets stick out on her, it would certainly stick out even further on me.

Ladies, I'm lol. Some of us like shorts, some like bermudas, some likes capris, some cropped pants, others like knickers, skorts, no pockets, jeans...
