I was on the Transatlantic sailing with a stop in Bermuda. I did the Mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle excursion. I really enjoyed my time on this excursion, however the title is a bit misleading. The mysteries of the Bermuda triangle is a really small part of the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute. The website says:
- Start your exploration of this amazing museum with a section focused on the history of the Bermuda Triangle.
Section is right. You can spend more time on your own here, but it's hardly enough to justify the title.
What I liked about this excursion, it felt like value for money. I think if I had to pay for this by myself, it might have been a bit cheaper but not much.
It was about 45 minutes by boat going to Hamilton, 35 minutes back. Zoë and David were really fun and knowledgeable about the island, they are natives. Hannah at the institute was very passionate about her job and all they do there.
Being out on the water was really nice. Also that it's a half day excursion is a plus. When you return you have time left to lunch, shop, explore the harbour.
What I also liked is that it's a late arrival in port. Ashore time is around 10am, which gave the ship a very laid back vibe in the morning. People were taking their time to have breakfast, lounge around the pool. There were characters exploring deck 4 as we docked.
