BEO Question!

How long after you have your planning session are you supposed to receive your BEO? I could have sworn our planner told us it would be a couple of weeks, but it has been over a month. Any ideas on how soon I can expect to receive it?

My planner also told us she would get it to us in 2 weeks, but we didn't get our first one until about 4-5 weeks after our PS. If you're really worried just send her an email, sometimes they get really busy. It could also be that they are waiting for prices to come back from the chefs (if you are eating there for a reception).

We got our Floral in exactly 2 weeks, and the general BEO from our planner in 4 weeks. I don't think there's anything wrong with sending a short email to say "just wondering when we should expect our BEO, thanks!" At least if there is a specific hold-up, your planner can let you know what's going on. I always prefer to know what's happening.

It took about two weeks before we received our first BEO and well over a month before we received our floral BEO. There is no harm in sending an email just to check in and see if they have a time frame of when you might recieve it.

I just had my planning session a week and a half ago and was told it could take 6 - 8 weeks. I have no idea why it takes so long

I am in the same situation. I'm coming up on 8 weeks to recieve my BEO after my planning session when I was told it would be 3-4 weeks. I received my floral BEO about two weeks after the session.

I contacted my planner and she just said that other weddings popped up that will be a month before mine.

I had my planning session over the phone and I got my BEO the next day. The floral BEO took like 2 weeks.

I think it depends on a lot of things. One being if you are doing something others haven't. I know that for a couple things from our wedding they had to research pricing as it wasn't something they did everyday (like chair rentals for example). Ours took over a month I believe, with floral coming in just before that.

We had our planning session the last weekend in May. We received our floral BEO very quick, within 2 weeks. We just received Wedding BEO last week. So it does take awhile to get them. Especially if you have a planner covering alot of weddings.

Thanks for all the responses! It seems like there is quite a range. I don't think we are doing anything out of the ordinary that would prolong the process, but who knows what the deal is!

By any chance do you have Pamela Mattack as your planner with Jamie Ledet filling in during her maternity leave?

I contacted my planner and she just said that other weddings popped up that will be a month before mine. So I could have gotten a quicker response if I had waited to book my wedding until three months before? Sounds fair.

I don't have Pamela, but my planner has in general been a little slow to get back to me about things. Her assistant left and was not replaced for a couple months, so I think she was overwhelmed there for awhile. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get it soon!

I do - and maybe that's one of the reasons. I was told I would get it a little sooner because we are only 8 weeks out from my wedding. I am also doing out of the ordinary floral and had them create a very specialized buffet menu so that may add to the timeline.

We had a lot of special requests and a personalized menu so our BEO took 6-8 weeks. I called our planner's assistant around 7 weeks and she sent us what she had so far.

Our floral was pretty quick - I think 2-3 weeks, but it was pretty straight forward.

We are having a customized station buffet menu and a custom cake so they told us it would be about 6-8 weeks. I have had a few emails with my planner asking clarifying questions since my session about 2 weeks ago. I have very basic and straight forward floral but i have not seen that yet either.

So apparently we did get our BEO. My DF informed me last night that he received it weeks ago... for some reason it just didn't get through to my email. He just assumed that I had seen it.... talk about great communication! Still waiting on our floral BEO.
