After a bite of Breakfast at the ice cream parlor, we headed to Magic Kingdom. We decided to take the ferry for a change of pace. It was good thing we did, because we were able to meet Mary Poppins, which we all got a kick out of.
The weather was hot and sunny that morning. We got our stroller, filled up our misty mate, and we were ready to go. We had a couple of hours before our meet and greet so we headed over to Adventure land. We rode the magic carpets and Grace got some of her beloved "jewels" from the gift shop.
We decided to not try to race through and see everything, but rather go at a leisurely pace and just enjoy the magic. Benji and Josh got to drive on the jungle cruise. We had the funniest cast member. She was a delight. We went on Pirates of the Caribean, whick Josh proclaimed his favorite ride. We met Captain Hook and Mr Smee, whick scared our princess just a bit.
Before we knew it, it was time to head over to the castle. We got there as the Cinderella Show was ending. When we told the castmember who we were, were told to wait, then we were called back into the belly of the castle. Imagine our surprise when we saw the amount of characters present. The first character I saw was Mickey. I did my usual. I burst into tears!!! Fairy God mother came over and was talking to me, and the princesses surrounded Grace. The fab Five were surrounding the boys. The Evil queen was hitting on my husband. But she was really sweet to me. She even kept offering me apples. I was a bit concerned about her mental capacity though. She had this thing about talking to mirrors. Oh well, it takes all kinds. I did however notice a bit of tension between her and Snow White. I'm betting there's a story there.
After some more pictures, We visited with the castmembers a bit. These people are simply amazing!! They add so much magic to Disney. I can't thank these people enough for how kind they were to Benji and the rest of us!!! Cinderella cried when she was taking to Benji.
Benji walked on a cloud for the rest of the day.
We then went back to Fantasy land to do some repeats. We rode Grace's beloved Ephalents, and her beloved Pooh Ride. At this point, I had worked out in my mind what kind of surprise I wanted to get Grace. I just had to bide my time.....
Phiharmagic was just as incredible the second time around. Only they need to put up a sign saying that no ducks named Donald were harmed in the making of the film. Grace thought her beloved duck was hurt, and was quite distraught by the time the movie ended.
We had luch at El PirataY El Perico. The food was good. I especially liked my taco salad. It hit the spot. Of course, I needed my Aloha Aisle fix, and ended up with a glass of cold pineapple juice.
We then headed over to tomorrow Land. We rode the TomorrowLand Transit Authority, and when we went into the Space Mountain area, I had Josh convinced we were ON Space Mountain. He wasn't pleased with me. By this time, the rain had started, but We learned from past mistakes and had our ponchos ready to go. We rode Buzz Lightyear, and my favorite, the carousel of progress.
We also checked out the time keeper which was pretty cool.
On the way out to the contemporary, I found Grace's surprise, a princess Minnie!!! I went in and got it for her, then presented to her. I told her i had something special for her, and she thought it was the usual hug and kiss. I told her to close her eys, then handed her the Minnie. Oh, my, lets just say, There was one happy little princess in the Kingdom that day!!!!
We decided to walk over to the contemporary and look around. Of course it started really raining at this point. But we decided to keep going. At one point, Josh and i started skipping down the past, singing Zippidee Doo Da. Suddenly, we didn't mind the rain, and the walk seemed shorter. Funny, how a little pixie dust makes things better. That was one of the more magical moments of our trip, and there were many moments.
The Contemporary was pretty much the same as it was two years earlier, when we had stayed there. It's one of our favorite places. The only thing missing was the characters announcing the floors on the elevators. Benji really missed this. It's funny what kids noitice.
After a short snack, and more souvenir shopping we headed back to the magic Kingdom. We rode the tea cups, Goofy's barn stormer. We really so wanted to stay for Spectromagic, but there was a huge black cloud in the sky, and severe weather forcasted. To us, it wouldn't have been enjoyable being out in that weather for much longer. So we said farewell to the Kingdom and headed out. As we were leaqving tomorrow land, you could see a huge, bright rainbow overhead. It was beautiful. I'm not sure Walt Himself could have orchestrated such an amazing sight. And so we left.
On the Monorail, Josh and Benji were both in tears. They had such a good time, and by the next day, it would all be a memory.
Disney is the only place I have ever seen my children cry about leaving. All the moves with the Air Force, all the friends, churches and schools they've left, and Disney is the place that they can't bear to leave.
Stay tuned for a look at Give Kids the World!!!
